3. I think these are two things you can see at a training camp that you can't see at many other times of the year because lots of teams close practices: In River Falls, Wis., on Saturday morning, I saw Chiefs wideout Eddie Kennison split right, with new corner Patrick Surtain lined up in his face. The ball was snapped to backup quarterback Todd Collins. Kennison got jammed off the line by Surtain and knocked off his route. Collins looked right to Kennison and saw he'd been pushed off his route, and he immediately looked elsewhere. Great play by a pro cornerback, one needed desperately by the Chiefs. Next play, Collins took the snap and made a delayed handoff to Larry Johnson. At the top of his lungs, Surtain screamed, "DRAWDRAWDRAWDRAW!!!" I thought, what a great addition Surtain is. My second observation at Kansas City camp:

good luck to Pat but hes gone now. I think we shud move on before i cry in my soup.

good for Pat.. and good for the Chiefs.

it was a deal that had to be done... without Pat a lot of our FA signings would have been impossible.

I think KC will be good this year. They made some needed additions on D, and the O is always right on.

Well of course he has looked good. Everyone here knows he is one of the 3 best corners in the league. The guy held Torry Holt to his worst game EVER last season, when Holt was at his best. And he did it in single coverage alot of that time. I understand the buisness side of that move, but he is gonna be missed alot.

Think Pat would come back to Miami to retire as a Dolphin as he nears his twilight years? We're definitely gonna miss him... Such a class act!!

Surtain was a stud! Period! Such a consistant and great CB. Its a shame he didnt finish his career here. I guess we should just focus on the new #23.
