Signing 7 year 50 Million Dollar deal. Thank God they traded him there was no way they would of been able to afford that.

That's quite a bit for his age... makes him what, 36 at the end of his contract?

Better them then us...

he's getting paid more then he's worth, thank god it's someone elses problem now.

He'll never see the end of that deal in KC.....

I think he desirves it. Pat has been great here for a long time.

haha... nice one Pat. Thank god we aint paying it.

those are just press numbers. Most players restructure their contracts in the final couple of years or are just cut because the contracts are always backloaded. In reality it is probably a 5 year 30 million contract or something along those lines.

I don't doubt he won't see it... but with his expected signing bonus, I think he'll be expensive to cut when he does retire.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Pat cut for cap reasons in 2008 or 2009 only to come back here cheap to serve as a nickel/dime guy. The team should be really clicking by then. It would depend on how badly bridges are burned here, but I'm guessing the answer is not much since he's getting a payday he knows he could have never gotten here.

Good call, JJ... I'd really like to see him come back and retire a 'Phin.

Good for him... Seems like both sides got what they wanted, I think the Chiefs got the better end... Oh well
