i know he's on the chiefs. but i just saw under the "acquisitions" section that we traded him. anyone know why and what we got for him?? just curious becuase i wish he was still on the phins
 
Too much money, he wanted to be traded if I recall correctly. We got a 2nd for him I believe.
 
:boohoo: I like Matt Roth and all, but man I just can't not think that a Patrick Surtain would be the perfect thing for this secondary. =/

Matt Roth will be a very good DE. Just unlucky for him we have alot of depth there and needless to say, alot of talent.

No he didn't. He wanted to get paid. Yes Matt Roth was what we got. We would have had two second rounders if F'n Wanny & Speilman didn't trade it for AJ feeley. :fire:

Can you imagaine how that conversation went:

Rick: "Hey, andy, I hear AJ might be available."
Andy Reid: "Umm, yeah. Sure. You like him."
Rick (playing cool): "He's alright. Well, what do you want for him. Nothing too steep, he's a back-up you know."
AR: "Yeah we know. I think maybe we can get a deal done, for, say,.....
Rick: "I'll give you a third!!!"
AR (puts phone down and whispers to assistant): "Holy s--. They want to give us a third for AJ Feely."
Assistant: "Do it!! before he changes his mind!!!!"
Rick: "Andy, you there?"
AR (trying to compose himself): "Just a second, Rick."
Rick: OK andy. You wanna play hardball? Okay, a second rounder and that's it. Final offer! Andy? who's that laughing?"
AR: "It's just AJ, Rick. He's just so excited about this deal. Done. He'll be there tomorrow.
Rick: "Sweeettt. wanny is so going to love me now."

Well that's what I meant, he wanted to get paid, knew we weren't going to pay it, then requested a trade, which we obliged, IIRC. I could be wrong though, but that's what I remember. I wanted to keep him, but understood the business, he was one of my favorite players if not my favorite other then Chambers.

I miss the days when water covered 75% of the earth and Pat and Sam covered the rest....:(

i just forgot what we got for him.

Also, since we have so much depth like Jason Taylor 99 says. why not try trading carter and let roth have the starting job. i think we might be able to get a 3rd or 4th rounder for him IMO.
