Hi all

I'm sure you've probably already had this, I have had a quick look but couldn't find anything, so sorry if it's boring, but i'm a Chief fan and i'm after some takes on Pat Surtain.

I can't say i've watched too much of him, and obviously i'm excited to see what he can do for KC. What are the kind of positives and negatives to his game? And any extra info you could give would be great.

Also, if you have any or know of links to any videos so I could check him out further, that'd be awesome.

negative is he has a knee that seems to get worse each season.

positive is he won't get burned for the big play all that often.

Positive is he has more interceptions then any other DB in the league over the past 4 years...

He don't have many negatives, he does shut down top wideouts all the time.

He only gave up 1 catch for 10 yrds last year against Tory "big game" Holt.

Surtain is a sound player, one of the top 5 in his position and I hate the fact that we had to let him go, you guys gonna love him. Welcome Aboard.

Surtain is prob. top 3 or 5 Best cornerback in the NFL. Hes not flashy but he shuts down WRs on his side of the field. Brady, Manning are on record of saying they dont throw the ball his way.

Cons-
could improve tackling, but still very solid.

No we couldn't. economics 101. the fact that he shuts down 1/3 of the field in the passing game makes a defense have to only defend the other 2/3's..the boy was good.

you ever watch the Chefs defense play?
If they had a sub average offense they're defense would be at the bottom of every category:D

Surtain

PROS: Very fast hands and has great vision. Two big keys for INTs.

CONS: Can get beat by the tall/strong wide outs and the pure speed wide outs. If your Defensive Line can keep pressure on the QB then you shouldnt get beat on Surtain's side.

Oh yea dont forget to pronounce his name right =P.

Best way to describe Surtain is SOLID. Hes hasnt got dissed on much since he went but thats cos of the great work hes done for us in past. He's a respected ex dolphin whos served his time for the cause. As long as he isnt playing against us i'll be rooting for him.

im sure hes gonna get one hell of an ovation when he returns with KC this year, i know ill be standing. the guy is a professional, along with johnson who fell to you guys, and bell if he can stay healthy, your defense will improve a ton, you guys ought to be very excited for this season

I've been watching the cheifs VERY closely all offseason. I like them a bit, and im hoping big things for them. I have to say they look like they can be great. Kendrell bell, sammy knight, pat surtain, they drafted derrick johnson, they still have scott fujita, and they do have a pretty good defensive coordinator in Cunningham. I think they could surprise. I guess we'll see.

were we watching the same player? talk about his speed or something, but Pat was probably our best tackler outside of ZT And JT.

All you need to know is whatever side of the field he is on...The QB will not try him. So the safeties can cheat and stunt all day long.
