Suspended Dolphins to watch games on TV

IDK Pat, they have had the kid for over a year, ask him to put on a bunch of muscle in his off season, and he did it. I have to believe that coaches asked the kid what he was going to do during the suspension, and if they got his lame ass answer, have to think they would have "responded." However, his saying this now makes me wonder what did happen.

he did it using steroids which isnt hard at all to gain muscle, so its not like he worked hard to get that 15 pounds. But trust me fake juiced up muscle comes off faster than it goes on. If he doesnt work out during this 4 week layoff, he will come back at the same weight we drafted him at.

What happens if he does work out? Does he maintain the muscle?

Hard to say. If he hadn't juiced up, he could possibly have added the same weight with the correct commitment. However, I suspect, that if he does come off the juice, then his true workout regime will come to show at some stage during the season, if it hasn't already. And with him being away from the team for the next 4 weeks - when he returns, we will really see what's going on.

The way I look at it now. I'd rather invest in the likes of Shelby, Fede and McCain.

i wish jordan said he was gonna drop some weight during his time off...i dont understand how the staff can look at that preseason tape and think he carries that weight well and it doesnt effect the top 5 pick worthy athlete...

i just don't get it...we gonna sell low on that kid after this year...

Overcoming adversity is paramount to the success of an NFL player, and Jordan has had more than his fair share. I wait and see how he plays when he comes back. He may surprise us.

I haven't really let it rip on this one, but what has always baffled me is, when you trade up to get the third overall pick, it's to get him to do what he does best... and not convert him to another position. I will always shake my head at this one.

And yes, many on here will blame Jeff Ireland, but... as a former Coach, the coaching staff and in particular Coach Philbin, continue to try and fit a round peg into a square hole. Why?

Athletes like this don't come along that often, use him properly. This is one of those few times you can have an innovative approach to defense because of the athlete and actually dictate to the offense.

Ok - stepping down off the soapbox now

Maybe I don't know the story, but what adversity?

Guess you missed it. Ireland, Ross, Philbin, and coaches had dinner before the draft, and everyone told Ireland that Jordan was the player they most wanted in the entire draft. This one is not on Ireland.

IMO, Jordan's adversity was expecting to be a star in the NFL. Then coming in injured, and learning that he is not what he thinks he is, and has to gain a bunch of weight to be what coaches believe he is best suited for in changing positions. Add in the suspension for doing what they asked with help he should not have needed to begin with.

The short answr is yes, he will maintain the muscle. Even if he stops juicing which if he is smart he will, he will likely lose a couple pounds but he will retain the majority of it.

if not during this year

if fede shows that he can be a rotational contributing de during these next 4 weeks you may be right...if they feel like they got a 2 deep quality unit without him i sure as heck wouldn't rule it out...but i think fedes gonna have to show he's ready to contribute
