Watching Gase insert Osweiler at QB the past 5 games and basically run the same exact offense he had Tannehill run has me questioning him as a QB whisperer. They are NOT the same guy. Different skill sets call for different whispers. Osweiler is of course a lost cause by now, and is not the real issue. My issue is that Tannehill is definitely more athletic than Brock yet same offense was deployed under both of them. If Tannehill truly has no issues with his knee anymore, yet could be affected throwing the ball by shoulder pain roll the kid out when you want him to throw so he can always look upfield if it's there, and run 15 read option plays with Drake over the course of the game too. What is so hard about this? Tannehill could rush for 100 every single game.

In my opinion, if Gase rolls him out to dink dunk and sit in a collapsing pocket all day I will lose all faith in Gase going forward. The one chance we have to extend drives with this rag tag group of receivers is with Tannehill running the f'n ball, and for our D to pick off Luck 2+times. Just my 2 cents, would be interested if I am alone in my disgust of the misuse of Tannehill's run ability in his career.

Nope. Fans have seen Gase come up with ONE good gameplan. Two in a row before I get interested

Agreed. The play calling has been dirt now into a 3rd year. It's starting to look a lot like philbin when he just called predictable plays where the qb will get killed and the pass/ run predictability is off the charts. Same old stuff up the middle. Same old drops and rushed throws. Need to draw up some plays that will force the defense to respect the intermediate passes the runs inside AND outside, and the passer rolling out or just taking off for 8 to 10 yards 3 or 4 time per game. We also have to find a way to get the ball to gesicki. One new trick play per game is not going to cut it. Just need more balance to force the defenses coming against us to be a little more honest.

Im interested to see with Grant gone now, if we see the throws to Stills increase and if the chemistry between Stills and Tannehill picks up where it left off seems like so long ago. It just seems like they really cooled on Stills since picking up Wilson and Amendola. But it's hard to tell if that's just due to coverage, rushing (lack of respect from defensive fronts due to previously mentioned predictability), or just plain being squeezed out due to the new targets.

IMO opinion the funny thing about Tammy is he underwhelmed me with his running ability (even before injury) and exceeded my expectations as a passer. I thought he would be much more explosive with his legs with the run/pass option but ultimately fail because he could not excel in the pocket.

Is it the same offense? I did not see Osweiller running the football or rolling out because he can't do those things. I also thought we threw less bubble screens and especially in the last game the quick running with Gore up the middle was new and I liked it.

Nah there’s definitely some differences. Less zone read with built ins and more gore emphasis.

No real threat qb legs wise with os. Although I think they figured out gore on the inside zone is the way to go regardless of the qb.

The only thing I’d like to see is more timing route ask with tanny. With dvp especially. With guys like grant and Wilson getting the ball around the los you are gonna see less timing route calls but they are both out.

And Miami’s relied too much on gimmick or smoke and mirrors all year in the passing game.

ive never understood why the oc's or coaches ryan has had didn't use his ability to run more. move the pocket, roll him out, zone read more. ryan plays better when they move the pocket and he rolls

so totally on board! I've been sayin' that per se for years... But wait!

Let's fool the other team and keep him nice and comfy in the warm pocket!

NOT!

The kid got hurt impersonating a pocket passer.

Ryan's athletic chops were always his best skill set.

Use it. Or lose it.

Tannehill will remind us all how much we need a new QB tomorrow. And the ownership will ignore the evidence on the field like they have for 7 years and we will he sitting here next Thanksgiving with the same record same garbage QB and idiot head coach.. its the Dolphins way.

RT throws on the run as good as anyone
This is absolutely true, and what’s also true is the guys dexterity is off the chain when he’s running to his left, he’s exceptional on the run going both ways, that’s rare.

Reiterating here But What is a big red flag for me is Ryan has never showed the acumen to run on his own accord..Yes he will run very occasionally when all else fails, usually rolling out then upfield, but never on purpose, never to establish himself as a threat to the defense, also don’t like that he doesn’t use any pump fakes or shoulder deeks while playing the position..

If he somehow snaps out of his coma to do so and actually use his legs as weapon, it would really help us win a game.

Also if the coach would implement the read option more than once or twice a game, have him roll left or right more than once or twice a game it would go a long way to securing a victory.

Any time you give a person a label, you immediately forgive and overlook all shortcomings.

It is the biggest single mistake people can make when trying to understand and quantify an unknown. And typically the foreshadowing for additional revelations to come.
