Swap 1sts trade 3rd to Minn. Draft WR Blackmon.

No not next year. Swap THIS year and trade away 2nd rd pick. Our 2nd rd picks suck these last 10
Years anyway.

Kind of goes against Philbins "build through draft" model. And Blackmon isn't worth our next years #1, and this years #2. Would be such a desperation move to make up for the Marshall trade, we'd look even more foolish.

Future draft picks have lower value than their current counterparts. Not sure if people realize this.

The way its looking, our #1 next year could be our Franchise QB in Barkley.

This franchise under no circumstances should trade a number one beyond 2012. No way, no how. Off the table.

I'd think on Blackmon, best case is he slips to 5 and we move a 2nd in 2012 to get from 8th to 5th.

More likely scenario: follow GB's prior strategy. Green Bay made a killing drafting guys in the 2nd and 3rd round. Think Greg Jennings, James Jones, and Jordy Nelson. I'd expect a couple of receivers in the 3rd-4th round area. Keep an eye on the likes of Tommy Streeter, Joe Adams et al.

If anything we should trade back and stockpile picks. Trade back in the 20's and draft hill or wright. Then draft a pass rusher and a guard in the second. Or maybe even a tight end. If we get Flynn or Peyton I think that's the best thing we could do.

Stay put, trade back even...we will need that extra 2nd more than ever. We have 3 HUGE holes,QB, pass rush and WR. We could move back to around 15-20, get WR Wright from Baylor or Luke Kuechly, then Brandon Weeden and OLB Andre Branch from Clemson available with our 2 2nds!

Green bay made a killing but we have a Gm that drafts Misi, henne, merling and pa t white in second round

Hopefully guys like Philbin and Sherman will help push better guys to help Ireland. You know Sparano was a negative with talent evaluation.

Do you have short and long term memory loss?

The Tuna made those choices, not Ireland.

Let me reiterate, according to walterfootball draft chart. Between the given value of picks in each round. Miami
Can realistically swap 2012 Rd 1 Pck 8 (overall) for another teams 2012 rd 1 (picks 3-6, depending on team) if we also give away Rd 2 pck 42 (overall).

So based on chart value. We can easily trade up to 5 or 6 and get Blackmon before st louis does. We only sacrifice our 2nd rd pick this year

For us to "easily" do it...we have to find a partner that will just take a 2nd to move up, after Washington overpaid to reach the #2 spot.

It's not happening

yep...

Ireland traded up to get Daniel Thomas in the 2nd...

That was the only pick I didn't really care for last year, other then that I thought Irelands first solo draft wasn't all that bad.

ha ha...go from #8 to #3 for a 3rd rounder...ha ha...only thing you'l get when you call with that offer is to hear the phone click as they hang up...

Tampa has the 5th pick, and would be a perfect trading partner if they miss on Claiborn at 4. They just signed V. Jackson

There's a draft forum for draft topics ya know...... Blackmon is overrated. Close to a sure thing but doesn't scream elite talent, I see a solid #1 but he's not nearly the prospect AJ Green was, who went in that same area. I expect Blackmon to fall a bit from these projections and be available at #8, where we may not be able to pass on him. I'd still rather trade back.

Do you have any proof of Ireland's in out of course not so choose to believe what you want
