I know that quite a few of us myself included have fallen in love with Todd Gurley at 14 while others have opposed because of injury/taking a running back that high with other pressing needs. Being someone who roots for the Gators, and watches quite a bit of SEC football I got to wondering about T.J Yeldon who happens to be a very similar back to Gurley in build with just a little bit less explosiveness. If we were to go corner or receiver with our first pick, and take Yeldon in the second round would you be satisfied with this move?

sweet feet...maybe best feet in the draft...i'm a fan but the pad level isnt great...dont think he'd help you much on short yardage and goalline...gone on day 2

doesnt play to his size either...lateral cuts and footwork though he's got them...in spades...but daniel thomas also had sweet feet...and we know where that went and also didnt play to his weight power wise...catches the ball well also

i dont think he's the right fit for miami

Why? what's your knock on him?

He's a fumbler who as hoops notes runs with terrible pad level. Upright, like a broomstick. He's big but doesn't really run with power. Good feet, though.

Does that scouting report remind you of anyone? Because it's word for word what you could have said about Daniel Thomas in 2011. In Yeldon's defense he does have legitimate speed, unlike Thomas. But he is not my kind of running back at all. I mean, a 2nd round running back should come in as a starter. He should be your best back. TJ Yeldon was at best the second or third best running back on his own college team. Honestly the guy should have been moved to WR.

After Yeldon's Freshmen, and Sophmore year I thought he was a lock for the first round. I think the only knock on him is that he did have a similar year last year. No one can deny that the talent is there he's a pretty pass catcher, does pretty well at pass protection. Had he put up similar numbers to the ones he did his first two years he'd be in the conversation with Gurley and Gordon. I think taking him in the second round would be a great idea if we pass or Gurley is taken in the first.

I don't think I'd be ok with him for our 2nd, I think there's to many players that shouldn't fall to us in the 2nd that will. Hes fumbled to many times in critical situations would be one of my biggest knocks on him. He fights for extra too much and let's the ball get a loose grip. But his feet like a few others said are elite. But you won't catch him running people over too much and he won't give us that boost we need in the red zone. And if yall are waiting for me to praise a Bama player like no other, wait till Ragland comes out next year

I find it funny how you have Lacey come out with less hype then Richardson or Ingram did, and outperforms both of them. I'm very skeptical when it comes to Bama players because a lot have been a product of the system/hype machine. For as much as they pump players into the league each year, and get all these 5 stars. There aren't a high percentage of them actually panning out. In my wildest dreams I couldn't see Cooper not performing. Landon Collins I'm afraid might end up being bust material.

Honestly if we aren't taking an elite RB in the first we night as well wait until the later rounds because and fill our other bigger needs with better prospect.

For me, if we burn a 2nd rounder on a RB, he needs to show real power and short yardage production. Leaping, diving, whatever ... but he can't be a guy who lets arm tackles stop him.

I don't see the requisite power in Yeldon, so honestly, I'm not interested. I'll take a 3rd down back much later in the draft and rely on Miller rather than burn a 2nd on a RB with no short yardage dominance.

He needs to lose 15 pounds and try to regain speed and elusiveness because he's never going to overpower anybody regardless of weight

The second to fourth rounds of this draft will be fascinating. There are pundits speculating that about 75 players are going in the second. The math doesn't add up. There are a bunch of guys people are thinking of as second rounders who will end up going in the 4th. It happens every year but this year it feels extreme. The running back position is illustrative. You hear the likes of Ajayi, Tevin Coleman, Duke Johnson, Yeldon, Amir Abdullah and David Johnson as second rounders by various sources, after the two first rounders as it is. That's a lot of backs taking up a lot of picks.

Fans will wake up Sunday and convince themselves that they " got a second round talent in the fourth." You hear it every year.

I highly doubt we go RB that early. I'm thinking maybe David Cobb in the mid rounds if anything
