Panthers just released him, any thoughts on possibly taking a chance on him?

thinking the same thing. Does he play FS or SS? plus not sure if they want that Kap drama around the team, especially after we traded Stills away

Yeah, I'd take a chance on him he's still pretty young. Sign him to a 2-3 year deal if the price is right.

I'd pass on him most likely, but still wouldnt mind poking around some other safeties.. apparently ok vs the run but not vs the pass.

Also - make sure to keep this thread on track with football guys.

Read somewhere he was the 3rd worst rated Safety in the League.

Personally I think he talks more than his game can back up.

We are trying to improve our culture, not sure his "style" of play would fit in

There are some better options available both in FA and the Draft. You can fill in whatever name you like and it ultimately would be a better choice. Just one dudes opinion.

IMO he has a similar locker room presence as Kenny Stills who didn’t last long with Flores. Given the guys we added, like Van Noy and Jones, I don’t think players who aren’t 100% team first are on our radar. I think there are some excellent safety options at the end of R1 into R2 in the upcoming draft.

meh...seen him play a half dozen times a year the last two seasons with the Panthers game being shown locally. if you look up average in the dictionary there will be a picture of Eric Reid. he's just a guy, a space filler, not good enough to make plays consistently. doesn't have great athleticism or instincts. he gets exposed at times, but its not often. I was shocked the Panthers gave him 3/21m last offseason...didn't think he was worth that.

I thought he played well in Carolina. I. Surprised they re signed tre Boston and released Reid.

There’s something going on with him that wears thin on locker rooms, and it’s probably not just the kneeling.

I would go after Eric Berry before I would Reid.
