I think the Dolphins fan base needs to take a deep breath and relax. This is not the end of the world because certain elements have been far from steller in the 1st 3 preseason games. In past weeks too many fans have been overzealous of our expectations this year. Our goal is probably a six win season with what we have right now. So far there has been good news. Yeremiah Bell and Travis Daniels in particular, and it seems to look like after losing Surtain and Knight that our secondary is going to still be good. Just think about next year if Will Poole bounces back and Lance Schulters gets it going (give him 1 more wk). I am also impressed with the linebacking core. The QB position will not be settled this year and we have to deal with it, as the makeshift o-line starts to come together. By the start of this year I think we will have a solid guy playing both tackle and guard positions and again we will have to address the center position next year. Give ronnie time and the running back position will be steller and by the looks of Boston thus far we will have two great recievers. So we have two MAJOR holes to fill and likely this year they wont be filled. But we are not that far off and in two seasons we willl again be talking playoffs.

Lets not go crazy, in 2 seasons we will be hoisting the LOMBARDI TROPHY!!!!

As for this year, the starters haven't really played much, Ronnie hasen't played at all, and its an all around new system/coaching staff for everyone....

yes, it's way too early in this season and the whole rebuilding process

as far as this season goes we need to stick with Frerotte for an extended period, letting everybody get comfortable with the new system

I think we will pick up a veteran cut or 2 to help the OL

a decent center would be nice

He inherited CR@P.... how long to do think it takes to turn it around... Definately not in 3 preseason games ......especially with about 20 players who wont be on the roster 2 weeks from now!

Hopefully that was a joke on your part. :shakeno:

Saban is coaching Wanny's players. Saban needs probably three years before he has his types of players. Patience is needed.

Actually he did not inherit crap, he inherited a team that had a Defense that other then last year, was top 5 consistently, he inherited an offense that has 3 quality receivers (Maybe more), one of the best TEs in the game, 1 RB that has proven to be a beast, and another that proved in college to be the most complete coming out of College, and finally an O-line that might not be one of the best anytime soon, but according to the coaching, has way more upside then what they proved last year.

On the other hand, they are learning a new system (both Offense and Defense), and a problem finding a consistent QB, Miami lost and gained some players, and that O-line is still growing. All these things will take a little time to fix themselves, but there is plenty of talent on this team.

Talent does not win games and championships, its teamwork, and playing together like a well oiled machine (Check the Patriots and how many superstars they had), the players on Miami need to learn the new team theories 1st, learn how to do this like a team 2nd, and finally have in their heads where they are no longer thinking about what to do, but just reacting on instinct of what they have learned. These things will take a few players longer then others, but once in sinks in, they will no longer make as many mistakes as we saw last night.

We played one neutral site game we could have won, then two road games versus opponents who are superior to us particularly in the trenches. Teams that could exploit a fragile and subpar OL like ours. If we start looking pathetic at home versus soft opponents then the panic is justified. Although I'm not sure why anyone is panicking, or shocked at a lousy preseason when our over/under is 5.5 wins out of 16. This isn't 1972.

When Spurrier took over the Skins and had the run and gun, they were awesome in the preseason, only to play like crap afterwards. Preseason is a learning process, not a measuring stick. Indy is 0-3 this preseason, do you think they really care? Not likely!

I havent cared even a little if we have won or not because I believe Saban is still EVALUATING players and TEACHING his system. He will start game planing this week, to a limited extent. Look at the BIG PICTURE. Right now, wins dont mean anything. Who is playing where, who is playing at all. What can we do and not do. Who are we wasting our time with. That is all I am worried about. No hair pulling yet!!!
