Dolphins must rebuild an entire offense, defensive line and secondary so they need as many picks as they can get especially in a draft with so much talent in the positions we need to upgrade most (QB,WR,DE/DT,CB); if Mueller is smart, and lucky, will shop #9 pick for a first and a second round pick between #15-22, take Meachem in the first, Stanton, Ugoh, Crowder in the second, CB Wade in the third, Wrotto/Frye in the fourth, and a TE, CB, KR/PR, DT in the sixth and seventh.
I see Meachem as a key move because we need a big target #1 receiver that can be dangerous downfield like the 6-2 214 vol, even more with the loss of Welker and Randymac in free agency. Except CJ, i think he is the most complete WR in the draft, has the perfect mix of speed and size that is difficult to find and is coming out from a 70 catch 1300 yards 11 td junior season in a real competitive division. What do you think ?

I really did like Meachem when I saw him at the combine. He looked much smoother and quicker then most of the other receivers running the Guantlet (i believe thats what its called). I think he ran a 4.39 40 aswell. Though i would love to have this guy on our team, I think we need OL more. Moving down in the draft and getting a guy like Staley would be more ideal IMO. I would like to see a WR chosen in the 3rd or 4th round. Gotto build a solid foundation before we can move forward and right now ours is on the verge of crumbling.

I would love to trade down to the mid-late first round as well, the hard part will be finding someone willing to give us equal value for the ninth pick. If we could pull off a deal, I would definitely consider Meachem along with Ryan Kalil and Joe Staley on that spot...I doubt any of them would slide to us in the second.

If we can somehow keep our #9 pick and then trade down to around the early 20s and draft Meachem, that would be a dream scenario. We can try to find a trade partner who is willing to trade their first round pick for a couple of 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Or we can just tab Sidney Rice with a 2nd, who's not a bad WR prospect himself. Great hands and decent speed. Really reminds me of a Chad Johnson kind of WR.
