The Bills are reportedly close to trading strong-side linebacker Takeo Spikes to an unnamed team.

Spikes, 30, is coming off a mediocre 2006 campaign and entering the final two years of his deal but should be healthy now a full year removed from his torn Achilles'. Keith Ellison, a sixth-round pick last year, will pick up one outside linebacker position when Spikes departs.

does anyone know who the team is and what the bills get for him?

One guess would be the Broncos after trading Wilson. DJ will be moved inside, which would open up a spot for Takeo.

I could see him going to the Giants because they are looking for a linebacker and the talks between them and the Broncos for Al Wilson have broken so the Giants are a likely destination.

John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports the Philadelphia Eagles are showing interest in possibly obtaining Buffalo Bills LB Takeo Spikes, according to a league source. Spikes would need to pass a physical and negotiate a new deal. The source believes the Bills could receive a mid-to-late round choice in the 2007 NFL Draft if both conditions are met. The Eagles would likely move Spikes to the outside if they acquire him. The team could also move him inside and make LB Jeremiah Trotter more of a two-down linebacker.
