Over the last two years, this is definitely an approach I feel Miami has been taking and reaping the benefits of.

Brent Grimes - torn achilles in 2012, signed to a one-year deal in 2013, had a great comeback year in 2013.
Cortland Finnegan - injury plagued 2013, widely viewed as washed up and no longer a factor. After one game, seems he can still hold his own.
Knowshon Moreno - Plagued with injuries and sub-par performances throughout his career. Signed on a one-year deal and already had a better game than any of our running backs last year.
Louis Delmas - Was widely viewed that the injury risk was not worth the reward. Signed this year and already seems to be a vocal leader on the defense and definitely brings it on gameday.
Brandon Gibson - Had flashes in St. Louis but never really given ample targets or opportunities. Definitely feel like he's one of the most underrated players on the team this year. Before his injury last year, was the most effective piece of the offense.

I think dustin keller would have made your list as well, based on the way he was playing in preseason last year prior to his injury. he and tanny had that psychic connection from day 1.

Well, it's worked with Grimes so far.

It's too soon to evaluate the others. Gibson was hurt most of last year, and the rest have only been here one game. Knock on wood, but they could all get injured in Buffalo.

If they don't play most of the year, was it really worth even the roster spot?

through game one it looks great! Now can these guys hold up through a playoff run?

I would add in Mitchell, as a miscast 298 pound 3-4 NT in Houston. He really showed me something at DT last Sunday. I know he did not have injury problems but, was still a risk to replace Soliai.
