Talent Level???

Take A Look @ The Final Scores Of Last Years Games. Many Of Them Were Decided By 1 Score, Whether Is Was A Fg Or Td. We Were In Many Of Those Games, It Was The Fact That We Lacked The Ability Of The "big Play" Whether It Was On Offense Or Defense. We Had Too Many "big Plays" Against Us, How Many Int's For Td ( I Think It Was A League High Of 6 Maybe). The Bomb To Larry Fitzgerald W/ Under A Minute To Go, Etc. Take Away The Few Of Those Int's For Td's / The Big Arizona Play, We Maybe Win 3 To 5 More Games.

Anyone have a clue what the talent level was when Saban arrived at LSU? I juts read the power rankings and we are 30th and to be honest, who cares about that. Last year we were ranked much higher and look where we ended up. It's not like the guy giving us the rankings is best friends with god!!! But the ranking and the explanation or lack of, given by the guy left me wondering what did Saban inherit when he joined the Tigers?? I know they could not have been National Champs in Sabans first season. But three years in he's holding the crystal football and dancing in the lockeroom.

I keep reading here how Saban will do his first season and how he walked into the nearly worst situation in all the NFL, and I'm thinking how can that be when just the year before this past season we were a 10 win team. I think Saban did with the Dolphins the same as he did with last coaching gig and that was look at the team and situation from every possible angle and and discussed it with every person he has respect for before taking the job.

We have heard Saban say of all the jobs he's been offerd over the last few years this was by far the best situation and he was excited to come here. Our talent has never been the question and now we have a coach that will compliment the team and vise versa. Saban has a lot to work with here and the players are all positive about Saban and staff no reason to believe that we should finish below 500. this year and we will not be in last place in the division this year.

An LSU fan could better answer this, but from what I know LSU was a hurting program when Nick arrived and he completely turned it around and had them consistently at the top.

The Dolphins are a team that have survived in the recent past on a defense that is aging, Wannstedt/Spielman were running this team slowly into the ground, there was plenty of work here to do, weaknesses in the secondary, linebacking and D-line, an O-line in real bad shape, no bonafide NFL starting QB, no bonafide starting Runner.....we have some players but its not a one year rebuild.

As far as the 4 million I think Saban said look Wayne Butch Davis got 3million from the Browns 2 years ago.. I with the cost of living increase for a HC have to get atleast 4million.. Why start any lower than Butch Davis money for Saban.. Can you blame him.
I'm not blaming him. He also got something else he wanted ,total control. He was given an offer he couldn't refuse.

Honestly, I'm impressed with your HC, your GM is another story but Mike seems like a guy thats smart and has a plan. Your guys have palyed better under him then your previous HC who I must say is doing a great job for the Skins.
I like the fact that Mularkey has had signs of sharing the same philosophy as BB. Getting players that can play multiple positions and moving players around. He also surrounded himself w/ good coaching staff unlike Greghead who brought in college coaches that had little or no experience in the NFL.

Yes, but theres no getting around the stout D that the skins had last year and Greaghead was a big part of that and he was a big part of your D the year before.

We have a good D because of Greg Williams. We retained his philisophy and kept Jerry Gray who learned his stuff from GW. He is an awsome DC but not all DC's are meant to be head coaches. Maybe he'll learn eventually being under Gibs, but he wasn't ready then.

Really..... Imagine that, a DC doesn't always make a good HC!!! Wow,Ill have to remember that one. Seems to me there is something familiar with that sentence, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
