With the draft now about one month away, I'm starting to get excited. So let's talk draft.
Starting off with Adoree Jackson. I know it's a great year for corners and that's an area where Miami could add talent. I've seen USC a few times and Jackson looks like someone who can develop into a shutdown corner, coupled with his elite return talents and I wouldn't be upset if he were the #22 pick. At least early on, Jackson could help in the slot which is a big need area for the Dolphins. I know he's projected more towards the top of round two, but I think he goes higher. I absolutely love the player.
Kevin King is also intriguing as a bigger corner and someone with experience at safety as well. Would definitely like some opinions on his game. Can he play free safety? Is he worth pick #22?
Corner is a need, but Miami has to come out of this draft with at least one legitimate pass rusher. That said, I wouldn't mind if that's where the team loaded up even if that meant not filling all the needs. The best pass rushers who could fall to #22 are probably Charles Harris and Tim Williams. Both are limited players at this point, but could be elite pass rushers.
Taco Charlton is a high possibility for the Dolphins and maybe Jordan Willis, who had a monster combine. Charlton has the best size of the mentioned players. Second rounders could be Carl Lawson or Demarcus Walker.
Somewhere early the Dolphins need to find a starting linebacker and a starting guard. I think the value at guard falls in round two with players like Dan Feeney and Pat Elflein high on my list. I haven't seen Dorian Johnson from Pittsburgh, but the scouting reports on him are very good. One of those three and the team should be ready to go on the offensive line.
I think the talent at linebacker will go fast. Really like Jarrad Davis and Ryan Anderson. Both are very physical. I think Anderson could be there at #54. That's where the choice for Miami may get difficult. Do you go guard or linebacker there?
Would like to hear everyone's sleeper picks as well. Late round steals?
