some talking points that I thought id put up: an official stance on these. I'd like to see who agrees and who doesn't.
1) The comparisons of Henne to Flacco, Ryan, Sanchez, Sanford, ect., have be put on hold for at least a couple weeks. Those teams and players were in a different situation, we had penne, henne didnt need to step in. Also, we havent seen henne after proper time with the first team.
2) We need to make a move for a big play reciever, If we wait until the draft I want to see a decent investment in him, and he better be a stud. We've had the oppurtunity to make moves on proven players now, that would have a quicker impact than a rook.
3) Sparano and company have the team heading in the right direction, and I'm excited about the results thus far. However, they are not infalable, the two min. drill against the colts is one example; the team should have been better prepared.
4) If ginn does not produce into a top-flight wr2 then he is a bust, and Im giving a bit of leeway in allowing the wr2, he was a top-end first round pick, these guys are supposed to be at the top of their position...
5) the wild-cat, though wildly concidered a gimmick play, is actually a breeding ground for a new style of play, one that allows for versatile schemes and players to give defenses insane amount of variable to account for. Regardless of whether it becomes a full blown spread offense, remains to be seen, but versions of the wild-cat and other variations will continue to permeate the league and become a new, effective, formation.
thanks for your time and thoughts, will appreciate those who agree, and disagree...
