Living here in Tampa I have been able to watch all of the Bucs games thusfar. There are a few observations I have made that should boost everyone's confidence because I don't think they are as good as their record reflects.

Cadillac Williams is pretty damn good. I wouldn't go as far as to say that he's better then Ronnie but his upper body strength is amazing. He has a supernatural ability to twist out of tackles and get 2 or 3 yards after initial contact. That being said, he isn't that great of a receiver and he doesn't bounce outside so he will probably be forced to run through our front seven. NOBODY runs through Miami's front seven. I would be surprised if he broke 100 yards against us. It's not an issue of him being bad, it's just that he doesn't match up well against our D.

Brian Griese sucks. We have all known this since that game against the colts that I was unfortunate enough to attend. Bucs fans know this and bucs coaches know this and try to keep the load off his shoulders. If we can force the load back on to his shoulders by stopping Caddy then apply pressure we will dominate. This is their weak spot, this is where we can win the game.

Offensive Line: Average. Their offensive line is nothing special but it isn't horrible either. They don't make the stupid penalties like ours but they aren't as good at pass protection.

Wide Receivers: This is what scares me most about their team. They have a solid WR core. Galloway is old but still has speed and ability on top of a breakout season. Michael Clayton was the 2nd best WR in last year's draft, behind only Fitzgerald. Clayton is turning into one of the best possession receivers in the NFL and will be pesky. We don't need to worry about Hilliard, through 4 games he only has 33 yards on 5 catches. Madison and Daniels should be able to cover them but if somehow Galloway gets matched up with Howard it could be a quick 80 yarder.

Tight Ends: Alex Smith is average, Anthony Becht is average, but the Bucs love 2 TE sets. They use this for the extra protection and the added receiving threat. Smith and Becht have 7 and 6 catches this year respectively and are used mostly to block. The key here is that the fins need to figure out a way to punch through and get into the backfield before Galloway and Clayton can get open.

They lost that game. That was a good catch for the winning TD that they overturned. The Lions should have won that game.

They over ran Caddy and now he;s hurt. His numbers will come back down now and after he heals up we'll be able to compare the numbers better. The bucs probably won't over run him anymore and it'll be interesting to see how Ronnie does when Ricky comes in the relieve him. Right now, Ronnie might be pressing.

Youre not giving them enough credit.

Griese does not suck if you protect for him. Yeah, he sucked when he was here, but that was because he was either on his back or someone was in his face. Give him time and he will make all the throws.

They are a very good team, but we have a chance to beat them if we dont make mistakes and can run the ball (good thing Ricky will be back by then).

I'm not worried about Caddy getting 100 yards, its more the ability to get first downs that worries me. Come crunch time late in the game, he has the ability to keep moving the chains against us. McGahee was great at that in the first Bills game last year, which was why we lost. Also, Alex Smith has the ability to become an above average tight end. He isn't Mcmichael but he doesn't have to be.

I don't think Caddy can overpower our front 7 for first downs though. I'm predicting a shutdown.

We have a game before them y'know?
If you don't have something relevant to this thread then just keep it to yourself. You and I both know that the feature game is TB vs. MIA. I posted this because I have seen all of the bucs games and only one Buffalo game (where they played TB and got killed).

cadillac did more blocking/receiving in the lions game than he's done in the previous 3 games combined, and he didn't look too good. he whiffed on some blocks and looked pretty lost when running routes. compare his game to what michael pittman did. it's fairly obvious cadillac is just a rookie

They do seem like a good team and will probably be 5-0 heading into that game, but let's not forget that they needed an instant replay review to beat Detroit (Detroit!) and the combined record of the four teams they've defeated so far is currently 3-11, with the 1-3 Jets up next.

I told you Tampa had yet to face a good run defense and against Detroit (the best run D they've faced so far) Cadillac didn't do anything and got injured. Brown is better then Cadillac

Griese is a machine. If allowed to operate he will with great efficiency. But if you throw in a wrench he's offline all day. The reason they over run Cadiallac is because their pass protection has gone down from last year. If the run is stuffed and pressure applied to griese the offense will fold. THEN you only have to worry about scoring on their D. Which so far could be difficult. Until you remember that all the teams they have been against this year are struggling. Come on, Had that call not been overturned the lions would have won. Shows that they have problems with teams that have deep WR and TE cores.

No offense people, but I think we need to concentrate on the Bills before we start putting our mind on Tampa. If we go into Buffalo thinking about Tampa.... We will loose.

Heh, yeah. If I don't get in those playcalls to Saban by Thursday, we're all doomed. He said he wanted me to focus on getting Booker open over the top and finding ways to exploit the Bills' hole in the middle. I told him I'd check with the Finheaven board before I said anything, and with everyone here focusing on TB, we're pretty screwed.

I live in Michigan, so I saw that game. His best run of the day was on his first carry. He dropped at least one screen and didn't seem to be at home in his receiving/blocking duties as Brown (obviously). He ran well, but he also took a few shots that showed why Brown is a more punishing back. On one play, a Detroit LB or DE (can't remember) was able to take him down with one arm in the backfield.
