Tannehill would and could play better with a legitimate offensive staff and on a team where it all did rely on him alone. You can count on one hand the games in which the running game played a factor, and even that may be generous. The running game (either due to staff, o-line, RB, or all) has failed far more often than it succeeded in short yardage situations, meaning that if Tanehill didn't get the first down, nobody would.
Not to make a comparison in talent, but do you think its fair to say that Marino not winning a championship was more to do with lack of a consistent running back or reliable defense, or talent? Even franchise QB's need help to actualize, and when looking back on this season, what will stand out to me about Tannehill is not just the faltering down the stretch, its how much he did almost singlehandedly.
