Tannehill - A more athletic Henne?

It's funny how you guys just can't see that you're the reason Henne is hijacking this thread. No, I'm not referring to the comparison between Henne and RT. That was one of the points of my original post. What I'm referring to is how some of you and others spam the thread by focusing on why I put Henne in the thread rather than focusing on the actual comparison. If Henne's name irks you, don't reply! Easy, no?

I thanked you for this post originally, but after watching that game I can easily say you are insane

Luck made my mouth water and I can only wish RT plays like him in a few years. The accuracy, the movement, the huge 3rd down conversions (numerous ones), and the presence. Yes, he did force one pass and it was INT. But even on that play the WR would have been able to make a play if he had any anticipation. RT looked nothing like Luck and obviously it has to do with the talent around him but it also has to do with the fact he lacks awareness and some accuracy. At least at this point in time RT reminds me of Henne, but more athletic
YOU made the thread title. You intentionally or unintentionaly compared henne to tannehill, and it's someone else's fault that they think YOU were making a comparison? Own up to it. Admit you had a misleading title. you want a different title? ask for one.

I mean seriously... this is your thread title, your words...
Tannehill - A more athletic Henne?
how can you think that you aren't comparing Tannehill and henne? If you didn't want to compare the two, then don't put their names in a sentence that anyone with any bit of reading comprehension will think you are comparing them.

RT has potential. No doubt about it. That's why he was drafted so high, but as much as we love the pick you can't ignore that desperation and the need to satisfy and excite a fan base didn't factor into it. His bad performances against good talent can't be ignored just as his good performance against mediocre talent can't be ignored. It's going to be fun to watch him flourish but it's gonna hurt to see him flutter about. Hoping for the best despite my current and unpopular assessment.

I doubt very much that had anything to do with it.

Need to satisfy the owner had something to do with it but that's just a way of saying they knew they needed a quarterback. You don't draft a quarterback in the first two rounds period, unless you need one. So I don't get the logic here. We drafted Ryan Tannehill because we needed a quarterback? Duh.

That doesn't have anything to do with whether he'll be a good player or not.

None of his plays can be ignored, good opponent or bad, good play or bad. But that includes the 70 something drops from the receivers, as well. That includes Jeff Fuller falling down on a timing route and therefore being the lone person responsible for one of the interceptions in the second half of the Oklahoma State game. That includes later in that game when he popped up a ball that was intercepted, instead of just catching it. That includes the Texas game when his receivers dropped eight passes, including multiple touchdowns. It inlcudes overtime against Kansas State when he threw a two-point conversion right between the receiver's numbers, and the receiver dropped the football and they lost the game.

Ryan Tannehill isn't just about "potential". He actually performed. He performed in this offense, and he performed pretty well, for those that are watching the games and not going off stat lines.

You need to take a communications class. You will then learn that it is the transmitters full responsibility to speak in a way that the receivers understands it. If the reciever does not understand, it is the transmitters fault.

Oi! You two are numskulls.

Someone made a very good point regarding RT's college career in either this thread or another that stuck with me. Based on the success of Texas A&M and RT towards the end of 2010 (6 straight wins), they were expected to enter the upper echelon of college football and even a national championship. They returned a strong team for 2011 but finished 7-6. Obviously that defense blew numerous games for them and the personal collapse of fuller and others didn't help. RT put up solid numbers and showed great talent despite it all. love that. However, some of the fault for a lackluster season has to be placed on the QB also. I hated his mental farts (bad reads, inaccuracy) on the field though, and as much as his physical talent impresses his bad plays stress you out. If he can't fix that at the next level we got a more athletic Chad Henne. That's all.*

right, because clearly you're the only one who understands your intentions, then it must be our fault for not understanding. seems like poor communication skills to me. And I'd chill with the name calling.

I wish I were a billionaire so I could pay you to patrol these threads.

Maybe Henne is a less athletic Tannehill.
