Like everyone says its just one game, and against the raiders at that, so we'll keep perspective but I think its really interesting to note Eli Manning and the giants offense had the same doom and gloom as we did the first couple weeks of the season, and people questioned if Eli still had it, as he was learning a new system for the first time in I believe his career (just like Tannehill) then things finally started gelling and he's been rolling, the first 2 weeks compared to the last two, he's looked like a completely different quarterback. Now theres no guarantee ryan will continue to play well but I just wanted to point out even successful veteran quarterbacks take time to learn a new system.

One game does not a pattern make but they both took around the same amount of time to turn in a good game in their new systems. Who knows what will happen next game but hopefully this is an indication of things to come...

Thoughts? Go fins!

Arians said the same thing earlier this year with Palmer's transition last year. I'm actually very happy the bye is this week. Gives us two weeks to work on the system, Tannehill to work on his footwork more, and get a lot of guys back healthy to make the playoff push for the next 12 weeks.

There's no doubt that learning a new offense takes time. The thing is, Ryan needs to show consistent improvement throughout the year in order for me to believe he can be our guy. I'm happy with the way that he played yesterday, but he has been so inconsistent throughout his NFL career, even when he was running Sherman's offense (which he knew very well).

If he continues to improve under Lazor's offense, our team will win many games. But we've seen this movie before, where he has a very good game and the next week he looks bad again, so I guess I'm not going to get too excited right now. He needs to be more consistent, that is the key. Can he do it? THAT is the question.

Here is an interesting stat... Dolphins are averaging 24 pts per game so far.

Dick Vermeil said a team needs to consistently score 24 to 27 to have a playoff worthy team

This is a good article you might want to read:

You may agree or disagree, but IMO Bruce Arians is a guy who knows what he's talking about with quarterbacks and offense. So it's worth consideration.

Palmer recalls it the same way.
“It took us four, five, six, seven, eight weeks to get to a point where we were all on the same page,’’ said Palmer, 34, who is in his 12th NFL season and playing for his third team. “Even when you’re a veteran quarterback … it’s not easy. There is no exact date where, boom, you got it. When you got it, you got it.’’

The only Pattern I see is Eli got fat off a bad Washington secondary and RT got fat off a bad Raider secondary.....hopefully it continues against better competition because we they have a killer schedule the rest of the way.....
