Tannehill Contorts His Body To Make An Amazing Throw (sound On)

wait a minute- Tannehill seems to sense the pressure and move before it comes close to him. This can't be- I have been told many times this week that RT has no pocket awareness.

He lacks pocket awareness. Watch some other QBs move around in the pocket. Doesn't mean he's going to fail in the pocket 100% of the time.

It is possible to critique the guys flaws AND support him.

Tannehill does move in the pocket, but sometimes the pocket is collapsing all around him and there is no escape. He does seem to prone to the blindside blitz's where he just doesn't seem to be aware that a CB/Safety is gunning for him. I would like for him to throw away the ball (Cutler) if the play isn't there.

if he would've had real pocket presence he would've slipped around in the pocket knowing jakeem grant would've toasted his guy and hit him 40 yards down field on the fly that play... troll much... waiting on it.... you gotta know the D player was thinking ima knock this damn thing down if he throws it, and then is like WTF behind me?! excellent play from RT17. on paper its just a 3rd down conversion, but its really so much more

that was absolutely amazing. not sure why it wasnt on plays of the week. dolphin haters...

have you WATCHED other QBs? Seriously. If that was Tannehill Monday night doing what R. Wilson did, you'd conclude it has now been proven R THill is the worst pocket passer in the NFL.

Did you see the multiple stinker plays from Trubitsky also? Hiw bout Brady's or Rogers' cause they were there too.

You don't have to go into full on Tannehill defense mode, I'm a huge Tannehill supporter and he's one of my favorite players on the team.

I've watched other QBs a ton - not a one game sample. And I didn't say anything about his performance other than his pocket awareness is the weakest part of his game.

He's better than when he first came into the league but his pocket awareness is his biggest weakness imo

I've been critical of Tannehill for not doing all the things he did superbly on that play.

If he makes those types of plays a habit I'll be converted.

It’s not as terrible as people make it seem. Yes he holds the ball longer than we’d like. Yes he took sacks that were unnecessary. He still needs to learn when to throw the ball away. But a lot of times that he holds onto the ball longer than we’d lkke is due to the fact that:

1. He’s a playmaker and he tries to make throws

2. We still need to call intermediate routes

3. Our interior OL still gives up pressure way too early

Tannehill’s time to throw (per Wingfield) is 2.39 seconds, which is the 6th fastest in the NFL. Ya, he could bounce around more sure. But happy feet in the pocket leads to innacurate throws. I’d rather us get some competent pass blocking in the middle to allow him the opportunity to make those little movements that made Dan so good. You saw Tannehill actually do that when he had decent pockets.

n his pocket awareness is the weakest part of his game.

If you meant that, why did you initially write this:

He lacks pocket awareness.

If I wrote this about a lineman:

He can't pass block.

Would you accept it later if I claimed:

I just think pass blocking is the weakest part of his game.

Pocket awareness is not about being able to avoid what you can see. It is about escaping pressure you can't see.

as FinFan said, i'm fine with people saying he needs to work on his pocket awareness or thats the weakest part of his game.

But yeah, Im really tired of reading the completely wrong statements like you made, whether a THill fan or not.

I think RThill is a "thinker" and he processes a lot more info than avg qb.

usually that serves him well, and sometimes it costs him and makes it look like he's unaware.
