In an interview with the Finsiders, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill gave his thoughts on new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, and expressed his excitement on working with him.

“I’m really anxious, I’m excited on what he’s gonna bring to the table. From some of the brief discussions we’ve had, he seems like an enthusiastic guy who loves football,” said Tannehill. “He’s going to bring everything he has to the table. I think he’s gonna do good things for our team, good things for our offense, and I’m excited to work with him.”

Tannehill has gradually improved during his two seasons at the helm of the Dolphins offense, and shown flashes of his franchise QB potential. He doubled his touchdown total from his rookie year, throwing for 24 TDs this year. He increased his completion percentage, and had the best season in terms of passing yardage by a Dolphins quarterback since Fins Legend and Hall of Famer Dan Marino in 1994. And the signs all point to him doing even better this upcoming season, with a full year under his belt with his dynamic receiving corps, most of whom if not all will be back next season with the Fins.

“It’s huge just to have familiarity going into this year. We have kind of the background from last year heading into OTAs, heading into the spring mini-camps,” said Tannehill. “We can build on those things we did last year, hopefully tighten down our deep ball, tighten down the connection there, and then head into training camp really feeling good about the connection we have.”
With a new system in place with Lazor at the helm of the offense, Tannehill sounds very encouraged. Coming from Chip Kelly’s unique offensive system, Lazor is expected to bring more creativity to a Fins offense that has the personnel to do a lot of different things very well. Tannehill says he can’t wait for the challenge.

“It’s very exciting for me to be in one system for a majority of my college and professional career, and then you get to see the world, see football from a different view,” said Tannehill.
“I’m sure we’ll have a lot of similar plays but there’s going to be a lot of new stuff as well. That’s exciting for me just to have a new take on maybe a similar play but we read it differently or looking at it a different way. I’m a football guru, I love football. I love being around the game just learning different aspects of the game and to learn it from a new point of view is really exciting for me.”

Daytona posted a similar article but i believe this one has a little more detail..

"more creativity"! I can't wait. I think Tannehill is going to bust out this year!!!

Me too. The kid just needs to move on from the A&M college offense stuff and expand his horizons. New creative ways to use his god given talent.
I think he has a very good receiving unit and with some work on the long ball I expect even more improvement from him next year.

im very excited. tannehill is better off with a new oc and direction

as long as it translates to a playoff appearance in a weak AFC and an even weaker division..

As he should be. He finally has a new offensive coordinator for the first time since high school. Hopefully Lazor opens this offense up and gives us fans something to be excited about. As of right now I am excited to see what this offense could like. There is a ton of potential, now lets hope things work out successfully.

I bet he was also quite excited to work with his previous OC lol

When RT likely tanks again this year, all we are going to hear is the excuse now is he needs time ot learn the new offense.

Maybe, just maybe this guy will understand the need to move players around the formation. I'll tell ya by week 3 or 4 if he gets it or not.

Tanne better get very good to great at the deep ball or he will never be great.

if tanny "tanks", the only person the fns will lay it on is LAZOR. it will be all his fault. he want ready for the job. no one wanted him here. no one wanted the job and he was a bottom feeder hire, etc... .

tanny has to IMPROVE ON HIS GAME, NAMELY HOW TO HIT THE FASTEST WR IN THE NFL IN STRIDE instead of underthrowing so bad everytime wallace has to catch it he is staring in the eyes of the db!

and the o-line must be fixed. the biggest thing that scares me about tanny is his henne like problem of making huge mistakes when there is no pressure on him. when he is in a solid pocket, no one in his face, his feet planted and he throws a pic or so far over the wr's head, etc.. . its one thin g when the o-line is chasing him and two inches from his eye brows and he makes a bad throw. but when everything is good? all he has to do is make the play? he does it a little to much.

yes!! HE IS BETTER THAN HENNE. but, he cant keep doin that. if he is still under throwing wr's with 2.13 speed and still making bone head throws in a good, clean pocket from a rebuilt o-line with quality players, THEN we DO have a tannehill problem. i want to see these two things, what he does with a rebuilt o-line and if he can hit a wide open in stride wr down the field. not being able to hit wallace in stride was becoming a huge joke. his former qb had NO problem doing so. but, he comes here and tanny cant hit him in stride and now its all tannys fault and wallace is a bum.

it just leaves your head spinning!!!!

I like tanny. he has a lot of skills. but, he has a LOT of issues to [that fans cant seem to accept] but you cant figure him completely out untill this o-lineline is fixed. hopefully we will get good enough players on the o-line this year that even the blindest of homers cant say it wasnt tannys fault. that there is NO WAY they can blame the o-line should tanny not fix HIS issues.

Maybe I've seen the Matrix too many times,..I thought of this...lol:

Neo: Zion?
Tank: If the war was over tomorrow, Zion is where the party would be.
Neo: It's a city?
Tank: The last human city. The only place we have left.
Neo: Where is it?
Tank: Deep underground, near the earth's core where it's still warm. Live long enough you might even see it. Goddamn, I, I got to tell you, I'm fairly excited to see what you're capable of, if Morpheus is right and all, I'm not supposed to talk about this, but if you are, a very exciting time. We got a lot to do. We got to get to it.

I feel the same way. I thought our QB was really getting better but the last two games gave me pause. The missed long passes to a streaking Wallace were unforgivable and that should be his number one priority to get fixed in the off season.
That said the new OC and hopefully a rebuilt O line should give him the chance to shine. Throw in a strong running game and the offense should be really good...

The good news ? Wallace CAN beat most defenses deep. That's a major asset and if him and Tanny get on the same page look out.

maybe Tannehill is "the one" :chuckle:

although he did have trouble dodging bullets(sacks) last year.

We're talking about a kid who everyone agreed was very green coming into the NFL. He's improved each season. What exactly are we expecting here?
