Besides lining up Reggie Bush and Lamar Miller at receiver, the Dolphins have added another wrinkle, with Daniel Thomas splitting out some at receiver…. Cornerback Sean Smith told WQAM's Joe Rose that Ryan Tannehill's zip on his passes "is something that stands out when you watch the quarterbacks. The ball comes out fast with a lot of force. He's making all the right checks.”

That's pretty much it.

Sherman is probably a big part of that. He knows he's got a safety net and a guy on his side that he trusts.
 
Its been said many times that his best throws in college were outside the number on outs routes and hitches. His arm strength has never been questioned. No suprise here for me. Common knowledge for the people that followed tannehill.

Similar skill set. Both are great athletes, have strong arms, can make plays with their feet. Makes sense you would compare them. Oh an both were picked #8 overall too.
 
The kid definitely has a good enough arm, that's never been my problem. I just hope he can throw with "zip" as well as intelligence confidence and accuracy in late game/close situations.

I don't see the big deal here, ofcoures its with zip, he has a strong arm. Why do fans read into EVERYTHING.

We hear Penny boy threw without zip...didnt mean **** outside what it was, he has accuracy with or WITHOUT zip he just can't make all the throws.

This guy can, we know that, tell me his passes are dead accurate like Penny and i'd say oh thats good news.

NOt bashing OP btw, just talking to everyone.

Its nothing to jump for joy about, but it certainly is encouraging for us to continue to hear the positive reviews of Tannehill as we have so far. If they continue, i'll really be pulling for him to start unless Moore comes out exceptionally well.

Why do fans read into everything?

Coaches read into everything.
 
Having zip is fine but he needs a lot more then that to succeed in the NFL. Is he a leader? Is he going to step up in crunch time? Is he accurate? Those questions will need to be answered

Because it has been over ten years since we have had a QB worth a ****, anything positive at QB at this point is worth reading about.
