Dang. Didn't see this posted anywhere else (sorry if I missed it) and just stumbled across it on NFL.com (posted yesterday.)

"There's a chance Ryan Tannehill could need surgery on his ACL.
The Dolphins quarterback suffered MCL and ACL sprains in last Sunday's 26-23 win over the Cardinals, and his leg was in a cast last night during Saturday's 34-13 victory against the Jets. Tannehill is planning to rest and rehab the partial tears in his knee, but if it doesn't help, ACL reconstruction is possible, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport."

Yup. It's been posted a few times that he may still have the surgery for the ACL.

I am not a RT fan. I am not an RT hater.
I wish they would get him on a path to healing instead of continuing diagnosis.
We do not need to be rearranging draft boards and free agent visits because the medical staff screwed RT knee.

It was also our medical staff not sure if it is the same one that said Culpepper's knee was better long term than Brees' shoulder.

Just get the surgery and move on! Jesus...

I think at this point. We better off with Moore. Best Tannehill rests and make it when camp opens. Next year our Super Bowl run

Gase will not risk Tannehill or any other player for that matter.

Ozzy rules!!

SMH. Of course there is a 'chance'. Like if it does not heal correctly then he will need surgery. Who didnt know that?? Common sense.

Medically speaking also, it is not unusual for them to wait for all swelling and inflammation to the tissue to subside before they would consider a surgical intervention........the tricky thing here will be which surgeon will make the decision about if medically managing his tear will equal or be superior to performing the intervention......I imagine we will see a final decision in the next 2 weeks........

He may need surgery or he may not. Studies have shown about the same success rate for his rumored grade of injury is about the same for rest and rehab vs surgery and rehab. Why rush?

Excellent point, will bill agree that whoever Ortho surgeon deciding is keeping this in mind and will opt out of surgery is the MRI and his rehab improve, stabilize .

Posted this earlier someplace but he has basically said all along he thinks surgery ( this is the nfldoc that worked for Charges I believe).

MMMD 2: Doubt the Dolphins can get their QB back

Miami got initial good news of ACL and MCL sprain on Ryan Tannehill but a sprain is a tear. Grade 3 sprains are complete tears. The hope is for lower grade sprains meaning partial tears.

Tannehill is reported to be in a cast with a slight ACL tear. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/12/17/ryan-tannehill-is-in-a-leg-cast-has-slight-acl-tear/ He was seen using a crutch and walking with his left knee immobilized. Unfortunately, this is not the look of someone who will make it back before the end of the regular season.

I hope Tannehill can return. The Dolphins have said no surgery is needed now, but there still may remain the possibility of a procedure after the season. Only on rare occasions does a partial ACL ultimately not need surgery.

Face it folks, Tannehill is not going to heal in the next few weeks. Matt Moore is the QB the rest of this season, including the playoffs if we make it. Some of you people think Tannehill is going to be back for the Patriots game. Yeah right.

Did Campbell even get fined for the hit?

I had a partial tear of my thumb UCL this year. It took about 4 months to heal and I didn't know until over 3 months in whether or not surgery which would put me out for most of the year would be necessary. Tannehill has gotten better care right off the bat though, and I think we have still seen the last of him on the field this year but he should still heal right if it's just a sprain.
