Tannehill not as stiff

He definitely seemed more relaxed than in past pressers of his I've seen.

You gotta think, he came in to the league with a tight ass for a head coach with his college coach as the OC. Then they brought in an even bigger tight ass micromanager to be the OC. Philbin was not very supportive....and now you have a guy who is in his 30's, giving him some leadway, and actually relates to the players. I am not surprised he is more relaxed.

Wow... His presence has completely changed. Gase doingwork subconsciously on these players.

no pun intended, but he has to be less stiff in the hole. He's robotic in the pocket

All the BS from Lazor telling us Tannehill could audible and now we all know it was a complete lie.

I never understood why a coach would handcuff a guy like RT. He is obviously a very intelligent young man (Biology Major, future surgeon). He also has a great work ethic so why not take advantage of his strengths? Peyton Manning made a HOF career with these traits but he had a coach who invested in him instead of trying to "play it safe".

Philbin was too "queezy" to be an effective leader.

One of the first things out of Adam Gase's mouth was about how he was going to fully support Ryan Tannehill. That showed me that it was obvious, and probably discussed in interviews how Philbin did failed him.

How in the wide world of sports do you expect someone to be a leader when he is being chopped off at the knees at every turn? How do you expect players to follow that leader when they see this behind the scenes? It beyond ludicrous. That's why you get malcontents acting like children in the WR room.

For the first time in his career his leader/mentor is supporting him instead of hampering him. He doesn't have all the negativity that JP preached. Don't do this, Don't do that...bla bla BS.

Great things can come from someone who is empowered.

What am I missing that hasn't been there before at ota's? He's always seemed the same way to me this time of year. When you are losing, everybody gets stiff at the podium.

Glad to hear he's looking to outsmart defenses.
There's a team-centered "strategy" factor that Ryan's talking about that I don't think was really in the air before. I remember in the past anytime he talked about the offense, it was always "the offense is like this, like that, some new things, some old." Now it seems like way more of a living-breathing thing, changing mid-game, depending on Ryan's and the squad's eyes on what they see, what Gase sees, etc.
At the very least, I think the team is going to be a lot smarter of football players by the end of the year.

I don't think he is any different other than being legitimately excited about this season. He just doesn't haven't to come out and sell the Philbin propaganda when he doesn't believe in it.
