So Tannehill scores a 34, and everyone is impressed and happy that he's a good deal smarter than Henne.
Vontae scores a 33, and obviously the test doesn't mean anything.

I dunno about Illinois, but Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Penn State (for science) are very good schools.
Also don't mistake IQ for commonsense. Vontae may be bright but it doesn't mean he's not a knucklehead. My one buddy is getting ready to graduate from PSU from a degree in Chemistry and a 4.0 GPA but if you ever met the kid, you'd think he was a moron.
Cheating that goes on in the Big 10?
Obviously, Vontae had someone take the test for him, much like his SATs and most every college class he had at Illinois. It dosent take a genius to assume that. You have heard Vontae speak havent you? There is no way in hell he EARNED a 3.0 or higher GPA in college.

You can't say that, you don't know what kind of classes he took.
Just like that RB that came from UM. I don't see any way possible that kid managed to graduate from High school forget about college wood shop classes
and on the test, a former NFL scout was on ESPN radio a few months ago and he said if somebody has a low score, in private meetings they will figure out a different test for said player when he comes in. In his words, sometimes it just turns out that player doesn't do well with that type of test. He mentioned one player who struggled with the wonderlic, but it turned out that he was dyslexic and that's why he struggled.

I have heard Vontae speak. He comes off as nervous/excitable, and he might have a slight speech impediment. Some people do better in front of cameras/around microphones than others. I haven't heard him say anything that would cause me to label him unintelligent. Does he talk funny? Yes. But I think the majority here are mistaking the combination of nerves (and perhaps a speech impediment) and slang with stupidity. And I think these misgiving stem from more serious issues.
If you're talking about Frank Gore he has a learning disability and busted his butt to make grades. They wanted to put him in remedial classes at Coral Gables High School but he knew that meant he couldn't go to college so he refused and put in the extra time and work to get his grades high enough to attend UM. Let's not confuse Vontae Davis with Frank Gore who has an outstanding work ethic and proved that with effort you can achieve your goals.

He reminds me a lot of Lester Hays. He doesn't studder but I agree with you completely.
He was able to deal with the media's relentless questions without making a scene. A lot of players who speak a lot clearer wouldn't be able to do that.

He may have a great deal of natural intelligence, but it's not smart to show up out of shape for training camp when your profession demands that you be in peak condition.
A lot of very intelligent people engage in self-destructive activities.
Also, to be clear, I don't think that standardized testing is a good way to evaluate intelligence. I just think it's funny how Tannehill's 34 is impressive, but Davis' 33 calls into question the validity of the test.
