Tannehill: where he ranks stats wise in different categories

And I'd say average is the minimum level at which to expect to be competitive in the NFL, given normal-range performance in other areas of the team.

What I'd like to see (eventually) is above-average, at about the 84th percentile or better.

I think that's attainable. One thing that I think is evident is that Tannehill seems to miss hitting receivers at the optimal time. It's not just on deep passes. It often seems like his eventual target will come open and by the time the ball gets there the defender(s) is closing in. I think that anticipation will eventually begin to show up. It's not just on the receivers to break tackles or stay on their feet for YAC, and I think that it's inevitable that Tannehill will start to get his receivers at the right times. Next year can be a big year for Tannehill as it only takes a few big YAC moments each game to pump that Y/A up.

I was asked in another thread why I thought Tannehill's YPA is what it is at this point, and I said "missed opportunities." It sounds like we agree on that.
