Instead of looking at stats that can prop up our own end of an argument or fussing over whether the long ball is his or his receivers' fault, let's try this. Which other QB's in the league would you rather have than Tannehill. I think he is a middle tier QB that most of us will take roughly half to a third of the other QB's in the league over him. I think we will view him as league average.

I think you will be surprised. Most people will only point out a handful of QBs they would take over T Hill. And also is this for the next game, next season, or the next 5 years.

I would take Palmer, Ryan, Flacco, Dalton, Romo, Stafford, Rodgers, Luck, Bortles, Smith, Brady, Brees, Both Mannings, Roethlisberger, Rivers and Wilson

It depends on what the goal is as to how many QB I'd take first, am I trying to win it all right now or build a franchise?

Off the top of my head...

Rogers
P. Manning
Romo
Brady
Rivers
Flacco
Brees
Ben the Rapist
Luck
Stafford
Newton

So, 11? I'm sure there's room for discussion here, but this is pretty close. I think the last 2 are the most questionable, but I think both are franchise type players. I hate Newton, but he's a physical freak that needs to be coached up right now. Put Cam on Miami with Lazor and I bet the output would be just gross.

I agree with Tureo, to build my team around there are probably only a few.

Rodgers
Luck
Maybe Rivers.

Most of the Elite QB's are on the wrong side of 33

I would take Palmer to have short term success, knowing I need to draft a QB for the future. If you have Tannehill, you might be delusioned to think you don't need another QB.

Rodger - he's the best QB in the game right now and most likely still has 8 years left in him
Luck - The rising star in the NFL...smart, throws a great ball and has out of this world awareness.

That is about it...

This is to not say that River, Manning, Brady or Brees are not much better QB's, it is they are older and have a limited shelf life at this point in their career.

I think he is close to the real deal, but is unfortunately stuck with horrid coaching in Jacksonville. I may be very wrong, but that's what I think. I would rather try him than Tannehill.

i think if you look at this as in 2 years from now the list would get a lot smaller...for me it's not about what he is today even though he's top half of the league it's about his ceiling and what he will be down the road as a finished product

and a 90 qb rating is not it...he'll be a year in year out 100 plus rating qb

It's all academic. Tannehill is our QB and I'm rooting for him.
