DAVIE – Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has had his share of struggles at New England.

And Tannehill was candid Wednesday about why.
“I think that’s what you get when you face New England, you really never know,” Tannehill said. “They like to play their man coverage but they’re always going to throw something at you that they haven’t shown much of on tape and try to make you stumble a little bit – whether it’s in protection, a stunt up front, a blitz or a coverage that they haven’t shown.”
One thing that Tannehill feels great about this season is the open line of communication and trust he has with coach Adam Gase.

On a side note, the Patriots never had an away game on Thursday Night Football. They are hosting their fourth straight home game this year against the Texans.

Really hoping we can get the running game going. Not easy to play QB up there when you're one dimensional. BB knowing we can't run with work on stopping the pass. We need to be able to run it to slow down their pass rush which will be coming. Screens(to the RB's), draws and bootlegs would help too and of course no penalties on ST's would be nice

Ozzy rules!!

Screens are never truly effective against NE. They pride themselves on playing sideline to sideline, heavy contain LB and DE play. Matt Patricia doesn't put players out there if they can't do that. Boots may be effective if we can get an effective running game going. I think the key to this game is DVP and Landry. If DVP plays (I truly hope so), Landry can move the chains and DVP has the ability to chew them up for big yards. Different year, I know, but last time DVP played them he torched them for a 21.2 ypc average and a TD.

Also, I feel that Tannehill will have a much better game in NE this time around with the freedom of Gase's system and playcalls. Before, with Lazor and Sherman, he didn't really have any flexibility to adjust or do things he wanted in NE. Just think, if you play the Patriots with a very robotic and telling gameplan and show your hand to them time and time again how are they going to adjust? Well, we've seen that end result way too much.

Those NE CBs are not very good. DVP and Stills can take the top off and will be schemed open. Wouldn't be surprised if we see Parker score with a LB covering him. Landry should eat Logan Ryan's lunch. If protection holds up, Tannehill should have a good day, but their rush looked good against ARI

Tannehill needs to use his legs early and often. 1 or minus yards on first downs irritates me. Being in a predictable passing 3rd and long is a no no against good teams.

This is one of the big keys to beating the Pats. Tannehill has to use his legs as another weapon. But that team is so darn discipline and usually always prepared. Really hard team to beat.It wouldn't surprise me on critical downs if they sceheme to double Landry and DVP and force the Qb to go somewhere else with the ball.

I think this would be a good game to think outside the box and use Grants speed to catch them off guard a bit if thats all possible.

Kenny Stills and Cameron better learn how to catch a damn ball. If they scheme Landry and DVP out of the game, these guys have to... should win their match ups.

I'm more encourage right now with a guy like Gase going against BB then those other coaches we had. WE will see if he can adjust to what NE will do throughout the game.

It is funny how the Pats seem to get a favorable schedule to start the year...would be interesting to see them open the season At Seattle then in Miami...

He had audible power under Sherman. Our offense actually had a really strong first half showing there in 2013 before we had that insane second half meltdown (that game featured the phantom PI when Jimmy Wilson undercut Gronk and didn't even touch him while clearly playing the ball that then hit him in the chest). As ****ed up as that game was, it was the best showing we had @NE under Philbin, I think. We had that one really good half before everything just imploded. That game gave me some real heartburn.

It seems like no matter who the coach has been, we've been great against New England here in Miami and terrible against them at their place during the Belichick era. I think the only real exception to that would be the Wildcat game.
