The infamous final series on 2nd and 9 on TV you can see Tannehill staring off to the left but the players aren't on screen. I just assumed the reciever must have been covered and thats when he gets his head back around and notices the blitzers. Now seeing this clip it looks like the guy he was staring at WAS WIDE ****ING OPEN FOR THE GAME!!!!!!!

How does he not throw it? X's and O's guys, what you think?

By the time he got to the first down marker Tannehill had already moved left and the LB was there to break up the pass or tackle him short of the sticks. The rush got there fast on this play.

I make that I was just in a hotel in Texas and appears there is a conference room named after our QB image.jpg

Bench Tannehill. He sucks. Matt Moore would have made a first down on that play.

True and it looks like as he was breaking open the rush was about to get there.....could RT17 have anticipated that he was going to break open and try to get the pass out there, maybe, but out of all the plays its hard to criticism him on that one IMO.

Tannehill should have audibled to a swirl route there so Wallace could have made his break in time to beat the blitz.

Lol...if he throws that to miller clay Matthews is facing the play the entire way staring at it even and either gonna cut in front of it or put a kill shot on miller as the ball arrives...the interior blitz pressure moves him off his launch spot and he bails...if he had time to stand in the shallow cross to hartline is his next progression for a solid gain...it's not the edge rusher clean that killed that but the blitzer thru the gap that tanny has peripheral vision of and bails out...and does what he should throw it past the Los out of bounds...

Of course you can bet money that hartline would not have gotten any rac on that...and that route vs that coverage should provide rac from where that coverage player is coming

What this video does reinforce for me though is that there are no hot sight route adjustments in this offense...the edge rusher is a blown assignment by James but the interior gap blitzer is showing it the entire way and no one runs a hot route or even accounts for it...I will have to pay more attention to Philly to see if they have no site adjustments also...I can't say im a fan of it when we are getting blitzed as much as we did in this packers game...

If teams are sending more than we can account for there needs to be some recognition and route adjustment...there was last year even though some guys blew them...

Hoops, what do you think of the spacing of the receivers on that play?

That's your read on it huh :bobdole:

You see so much more than the typical novice sees. There are guys who sit on the couches and the bar stools watching games, then there are the people like you who put the tape on and break down the film. The true blue guru.

Why do you think there are a lack of hot reads in this offense?

Wallace cant run the swirl, its too complicated of a route and hes a one trick pony.

I don't have a problem with it...you are working crossers with clay and hartline and sitting down gibby at depth in the middle of the field..,we got what we want which is the shallow cross clean with the free safety having to come from depth but the interior gap pressure kills the entire play...

Tannehill worked it right also look to the back first but with clay facing it its too risky the play is designed to hit that shallow cross and they are man beaters...

What I don't like is there's not a site adjustment anywhere vs that clean interior unaccounted for showing it all the way blitzer...that stuff will ruin play design cause the plays don't have time to develop...unless a interior lineman blew a pickup but it doesn't appear that way...

it was man coverage he should've thought about the blitz and called for a hot route also the wr ran inside routes poorly

I'm not sure who that is sitting down in the middle of the field but hes open also if not hartline on the crosser provided the qb goes thru his progressions quickly...had there been a hot hartline would have turned and presented his numbers to the qb vs that coverage vs carry the cross immediately post snap...He would have been it...

If you are watching our tape there's no reason not to blitz when I look at this kinda stuff...miamis not making adjustments to account for it with the pass receivers...if its not picked up we are dead in the water

Add In the run blitzes vs the inside zone game I'm seeing and the stacked middles of the field and you can see why this offense has issues...and it's more than just qb execution...it looks like flaws in the scheme...but maybe Lazor will adjust...he better
