I've read many a post on how bad RT's accuracy is on throws over 20 yards in the air, and it simply is not true. Last year, the top ten QB's on deep throw % were Rodgers, Peyton, Newton, Brees, Wilson, Ryan, TANNEHILL, Stafford, Eli, and Luck.

For the year RT was 20 of 51 (43.1%) with 11 of 25 to Hartline, and #7 in the NFL.

This year he is #15 with 9 of 34 (35% including 3 drops) with 4 of 7 to Hartline and 3 of 17 to Wallace (1 drop and 4 INT's).

A big consideration on this year's drop off has to be given to RT and Wallace not being on the same page, which takes time. Even with that and all the pressure, he is still at #15. His ability to be accurate on deep passes is not a problem as evidenced by his numbers.

Well I watch the games with my eyes and he has been horrid on the deep ball to Wallace. Hartline should have caught the one yesterday. It isn't that he misses him, its he misses him so bad its not even close

Tannehill's deep ball accuracy has been a problem over the entire last two seasons. Those stats are misleading. Matt Moore showed the difference when he came on against the Jets last year. Moore is comfortable throwing the deep ball and it showed!

are you serious? do you watch the games... don't you see how bad he misses Wallace? theres no kind of stat you can pull up to prove otherwise. I make dumb posts too but dang homie

I would think that the stat I posted on RT to Wallace at 3 of 17 with a drop and 4 Int's is "horrid." No?

Last year Moore was 2 of 5 for 67 yds. How is his 40% better than RT's 43.1%?

Pregame they showed Hartline and Tannehill working on their timing. Why on earth isn't Wallace and RT not doing the same? Do they not even TALK?

With their chemistry being as lousy as it is... I'm SHOCKED they haven't put in the extra time to get this **** FIXED!

Tannehill is really streaky. I know there have been games where he has completed 10+ passes in a row, but then he sometimes just seems to miss a wide open receiver. He under threw Wallace on a play that would have been a sure TD, but I think he will get better over time. You don't develop Peyton Manning type accuracy unless you work on your routes with your receivers. When Manning came to Denver he was throwing passes to Welker and Decker in a city park. That's the dedication that separates the great QB's from the good ones, but Tanny also doesn't have the receivers Manning has.

Accuracy for NFL QB's is based on hits and misses. There is no difference if a WR is hit perfectly in stride or catches a bad throw batted in the air to the good or, the same if a pass is just out of reach or overthrown by 20 yards. It's just the number of times you connect vs the times you do not.

How many times have we seen Wallace not being where RT thought he would be? I've seen it a number of times. Not saying that Tanny is without blame, just that it is shared with Wallace.

Guys like Chad Henne and Ryan Tannehill have strong arms, and are good at throwing laser beams directly at targets, including over 20 yds.

However, they don't have the timing & touch to hit deep go routes in stride. Roethlisberger does.

so funny listening to some of these people try to argue with no point against the stats. simplest answer, tannehill is having difficulty adjusting to Wallace's speed.

And when you pair Mike Wallace with a QB that can hit the deep go route in stride..

But pair Mike Wallace with QB that can't hit the go route in stride (Tannehill, Charlie Batch, Byron Leftwich), then Wallace becomes a very mediocre receiver.
