Everyone knows that Landry is #1, and should be much improved. However, Jennings is showing some of the same in the off season, Cameron should develop to some of the same. Parker needs some work but, was catching everything, and Stills has a brief history of also catching everything.

Will Tannehill have too many go to/security blankets this coming season? :)

I've read about too Many drops from Cameron...don't know if you can call him a security blanket if he's dropping the ball.

I think the term "security blanket" in football terms comes from a QB who can trust a receiver to be where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there and makes the difficult catches. Landry is that for sure and Greg Jennings has been that guy his whole career. The rest we'll have to wait and see on.

Yeah, Cameron has to step it up to be included but, it is early. Most QB's have that one guy but, Tannehill will have two or more. It has to make life easier for him.

Landry will always be that guy in my opinion. Slot WR catches everything. Always gets open.

He's had a couple drops, but he's also had a lot of TDs.

I'd take a few drops but have 8 TDs on the season, & Cameron (barring injury) will have 8 or more touchdowns IMO.

We led the NFL in getting to the red zone last year, only to come up empty WAY too often. I do not see that happening this year.

I think Greg Jennings is gonna be a go to guy in crunch time for this team. Landry as well like others have said.

I'm not sure where/when Cameron Jordan even has a hint of a player who drops passes.
His history shows otherwise
2011 he had 0 drops,2012 he had 1 drop,2013 he had 2 drops,2014 he had 1 drop
4 drops in 4 years = OUTSTANDING hands... 4 drops in 4 years on 219 targets

This is what make this coming season so intriguing, is there really just one receiver that an be called his security blanket?

Landry is the automate security blanket, smart, little is wasted in his routes, so he will be open, or eventually get open, he is tough, and on top of that he is a hand{s} catcher, he drop few passes with one hand (Imagine two)...but wait, you also have Jennings, the old Vet, who's probably the best route runner on the team right now, and seemed to have had great chemistry in camp with Ryan, he also drops few passes.

That alone would make any QB happy if there is a chance the line does not hold, but then you have what is normally most QBs actual security blanket in the TE, and this year (With all due respect to Clay who was a good TE in his own right) Miami got a better option for Ryan at that position in Cameron, who is a bigger, better route runner, and actually give Tannehill a legit RZ target (One of amazingly a few this year). And then there's the player that is trump card, without this player I already like Miami's talent at receiver (Considering this year Miami probably has a deep threat in Stills that will work much better with Tannehill), but Parker does look like that rare WR that every team hopes and dreams of getting. He has great height and size to go up for the ball, and fight for it, he has enough speed, when if a DB is off of him for even a quarter of a step, he already lost.

Parker is going to be a force, especially in the RZ, and will be yet another security blanket. Southbeach I know this was not the question you asked, but in the RZ, can you imagine a defense having to cover Parker....Landry....Jennings as the receivers, while Cameron is also there eyeing you with a big smile.

It came from Blowmar saying he dropped more than he caught...agenda.

None of the other reporters were saying that, that I saw.

It's early bro. We haven't even played a single preseason game yet. Cameron has good hands and a history of catching his targets. I wouldn't worry about him.

And being 6'5 with a 37.5" vertical and a 4.5 forty isn't such a bad combo either. He is a mismatch nightmare with great hands. My only concerns with him are his health and blitz pickup.

But don't count out Parker either. Tannehill is best throwing wide, which helped Hartline to two excellent seasons. DeVante Parker is bigger, longer, faster and has better hands. Given Tannehill's excellence throwing those routes that looks like a money combo to me.

Others reported the drops as well.

Regardless, I would take the TDs and big plays Cameron WILL make along with a few drops. I just don't think he'll be the first choice when we HAVE to have a first down or a big play.
