If you were the Fins owner and you got rid of the front office, would you give your new GM the power to pick his head coach or tell him to keep Gase?

As an owner if Ross wants to give his team the best shot at the coveted executives , giving them authority over the head coach will only help him. He wouldn't do that after we fired Ireland, that's how you end up being rebuffed by a handful of candidates and having to settle for Hickey

Assuming you get a new GM (which we really need), you have to give them the authority to pick the coach they want. I'd kind of like to give Gase one more year, but not if we can get a top level GM who may want someone else. I just don't think our owner does either, so I'm not holding my breath.

If I'm calling the shots? Tannenbaum goes today. I don't care that it's Christmas Eve.

Gase I'm giving another season with his QB back and healthy.

Sure fire Gase after 2 year for a 500 record with teams most here thought would be 5 win teams. And what do you think you will get as a head coach. No one that is good will come to a place. If he is 500 in his 1st 2 years with a playoff appearance.

I have no problem with a GM being able to pick his own coach, but not in this situation. Gase just got here, and this team needs an influx of players and a starting QB and a coach that doesn't snort white powder and a........you get the point. Let Gase coach and build his team how he sees fit.

The GM should have control over the head coach and then be held accountable if the team sucks. No more playing hot potato with the responsibility. Although even if we did bring in a new GM, I would not expect Gase to get fired this soon.

Neither are going anywhere. Might as well get used to it

I think it would be a colossal mistake to fire Adam Gase at this point in time.

I think that in his two seasons on the job he's demonstrated some areas of exceptional competence, and he's also grown this season as a coach, IMO.

Sorry I voted without realizing what I was voting on (too much wine).

I though it was “should t-bum be fired”? I voted “yes” to that even though that wasn’t the question.

Well the question was should a GM be able to pick his QB? And the answer should be yes. No I don't want Gase fired but that's not the question. Like UK said, Gase should stay at least one more year and t-baum and Grier should not have been here to begin with but you can't hire a GM and then tell him he can't bring in his coach but it's all academic because Ross will keep everyone in place anyway

Ozzy rules!!
