Tannenbaum on WQAM

Actually pretty damn satisfied as to the job Tannenbaum has done this season..Only time will tell how successful but I really like and must admit been quite surprised as to moves and the direction the FO has been working toward... The more you see the pieces come together the more you see the insight and thought thats gone into this whole new season.

Whether successful or not its refreshing to see the unity of the FO and the actual calculated direction they are taking. Like we moved from FO 101, to Advanced FO....

He is here to finish the job Ireland started... but at the same time he got the jets in a pretty rough spot so maybe he's an alright dude? Idk.

I can't really bash T-Baum and Grier just yet, I feel like they're trying to learn from past mistakes, and avoid getting tangled in bad contracts or poor scheme fits.
I wanted Miller back, but I honestly think most of the FA's who left had several reasons for leaving than just money. Miami was not a well-run team, and maybe guys didn't want to stick around for another rookie coaching staff after how the last one turned out.

The salaries dished out last year were of a team that was inches away from being elite. The roster was not even close. So he has to take blame for that. I am happy that he is waiting for 2017 to maybe be smarter with spending. The mistake we made last year caused us not to retain some of our own, but if we did, we could really have been cap hell. So building the team, with "prove me" guys, one-year fillers, and rookies let's me know that a more prudent approach will be taken (salary-wise) and more emphasis on better coaching and talent evaluation will be sought.

I love Suh, but I am starting to believe no player other than a qb is worth that kind of money and long-term commitment. If you look at successful franchises just in our Conference, those that are consistent, no one had a DLineman that cap-restrictive. He saw a bad run defense and threw money at one person. Not a good move. But that move is over and it's the moves now that he has to make to correct that mistake
