I couldn't help but notice, Tanny seems to be releasing the ball just a shade over 2 seconds after snap - a big improvement over last year.

Will we be seeing a healthy amount of 2-step drop now I hope?

Lazor's offense is looking very potent. In comparison to our 2 previous offenses, this Lazor's is seemingly high octane - has vertical and balanced with power running between the tackles.

It was kind of surprising though to not see the uptempo so much today. Not that I mind, but once we get that going, teams are going to have an even tougher time playing in the heat down south.

I didn't like some of his decision making or ball placement, but he definitely was getting rid of the ball quicker. Not all 58 sacks last year were on the OL/RB's. Some occurred where he held onto the ball too long. I did not see that issue today. That is a positive sign moving forward. The OL played great, but Tannehill should get credit some credit for only getting sacked once. And it was on a delayed blitz where they got a free runner to the QB.

Tannehill has been one of the quickest to throw the ball since his rookie year.

If you think Lazor's offense is potent, just wait until they run it correctly.

Game one in a new offense...timing issue are going to happen....still an issue in week 8 then it will be something to worry about.

I personally think Trent Green blasted Tannehill way too much and his bias announcing can skew people's opinions. Yet Trent had nothing to say about how poorly Brady's deep ball looked.

Yeah he did. Neither QB had the best of days.

Brady also put a couple deep balls right on the money, like the long pass to Edelman. RT's issues with accuracy need to be addressed, and maybe at the half a technical issue was pointed out because he was much better in the second half. You can't throw behind a guy unless that's the plan. I think the big part is that it was the first real game in a new offense, timing was bound to be off a bit.

Frankly I'm more concerned with Wallace not catching the ball with his hands. He had a nice game but was pretty lucky on the TD catch. He also let perhaps 3 other passes that should have been caught bounce off his pads. Use your hands bro, not your shoulder.

Remember, it took Tanny and Wallace time to get it going last year. There's always a learning curve. With the offense changed, it means a new system universally, not just with one guy.

With that said, it's thrilling to see that we've done so well up to this point. Pre-season is nonsense, it's a bonafide practice where the best plays come out of the guys who are trying NOT to be cut. This is very encouraging, as is Ryan's release. It looks like he is growing.

I thought that was odd as well. It wasn't like Tannehill was awful for 3 quarters and then Green chimed in with his criticism. It was the first series or maybe 2nd and he just started in on him, almost like going into the game he needed some talking point so he chose that.

Thats pretty crappy if thats the approach he took because you could just call the game (as your supposed to) and analyze on the fly.

Actually not as many as some like to purport...the overwhelming problem was pass protect...after game 1 we are on pace for 16...not bad.
According to an analysis done by Football Outsiders of all QB sacks in 2013............

43 of Ryan Tannehill's sacks were due to blown blocks (breakdown in protection that leads to a sack)....by far the most in the league.

6 were coverage sacks.

6 were the rusher was untouched or a blown assignment.

2 were called "other pressure"...by their definition....(•Other Pressure (OPRES): I lumped together plays that were charted as "Overall Pressure" (could mean multiple rushers) or "Blown Block/Rusher Untouched" (both could happen on same play).

0 were tagged as the QB's fault

1 was a failed scramble...where the QB saw room to run but the hole closed before he got there.

Green said Tannehill was on the money in the second half. His analyzing was fair and legit.

I remember last year people moaning about how he had to get rid of the ball so soon. Now all of the sudden it's a positive.

That's the NFL though, offenses are gearing to get as many plays off as they can in games.

The best thing is we barely cracked the playbook yesterday. Honestly we just ran it down their throat without really getting Gibson or Clay involved. Nice!
