Pure myth. Always has been. He had one game vs. the Falcons 1-2 years ago where he had a couple of fumbles and from that point on haters have irrationally labeled him as having a drop issue.

The "idea" that A Fasano had the drops came because and after that game. He fumbled twice against the Falcons and everyone blamed the lost on him. He fumbled a 3rd time also early in the season.

Long also couldnt handle Abraham.. I remember him getting bull rushed a couple times and not being able to stop it.

That's a bad generalization. I am one of the biggest critics around here, and I don't remember Fasano getting beat up much at all around here for drops. The issues people have is that he is SLOW, not that he drops too many.

He had a bad game.

It was twice, two years in a row in the opening game...he got beat badly by inside moves both times. In the Atlanta game, he had a pretty bad game all-around...but cleaned it up after that. He seems to take a mulligan on the opening game each year...

Common misconception that he's slow. He's not breakaway fast or going to blow by anyone right out of his break off the LOS, but CKParrot's video clearly shows he's consistently able to get a step on LB's with 4.5-4.6 speed once he's into his route.

Thanks for the stats guys. This was pretty cool. Confession I kind of started this thread because I thought Fassano might be pretty high in the ratio and he was but in comparison to other TE's around the league he's about average.

Reggie Bush stood out, yea they are a lot of check down catches but hell it's a good to get the ball in his hands. Also good to know for PPR fantasy football leagues.

He ran a 4.74 and 4.71 at his pro day in shorts
so I seriously doubt he has ever seen a 4.5 or 4.6 time in the 40.

More like in the 4.8 to 4.9 with pads during a game

One has to just open his or her eyes and watch him plodding, lineman like
down the field to notice Fasano is not Fast nor quick no matter what you want to believe

It isn't a misconception, the guy is SLOW! Period. Not open for discussion...

I see how this goes ..... guys who claim he's slow won't watch the video CKParrot posted of Fasano with a couple steps on guys like Gary Guyton and Derrick Johnson who run 4.5's

LOL man some of you are stubborn .... and no I'm not saying Fasano is FASTER than those guys, so before any of you begin to waste my time trying to derail the conversation with that crap please save it.

Fasano has good football speed. I remember one knock on Emmit Smith was that he was slow but few rarely ran him down.

If a TE or WR can consistently get open, always catches the football and scores in the red zone I do not care how fast he is. What is a LB going to tell Fasano? "well, you caught 5 passes including a touchdown but I can still outrun you in the 40 yard dash!".

On the other hand I do not remember Marshall ever outrunning a corner for a touchdown.

i'm sure i can crop some video if i want to of faster guys trailing guys on some plays here and there...it doesn't add up to a whole lot for me when i've watched a guy for 3 years now i guess and pretty much know what he is and what he's not consistently...and fasano winning against coverage is not consistent by any means...

Watch closer .... outrunning Gary Guyton or Kamerion Wimbley off the LOS ..... how is "cropping" affecting how that appears?
