NEW YORK — North Carolina coach Roy Williams received his fourth verbal commitment from the 2009 national class, when 6-3, 175-pound point guard Dexter Strickland, rated the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2009 by Scout.com and No. 10 prospect overall, gave his verbal pledge to the Tar Heels.

According to Web site InsideCarolina.com, Strickland called Williams a “good friend†and was enamored with the Dean E. Smith Center and the coaching staff as a whole.

Strickland also considered offers from Michigan State, Indiana, Memphis, Ohio State and Villanova.

How could this team GET any better?! I just don't get it....why would anyone else even TRY! The best part about being a tarheel fan is watching how deep this bench gets every year. Good Luck to anyone going against my guys this year.

I called my brother the other day and Tyler Hansbrough answered the phone. It turns out my brother and his girl friend are good friends and he comes over a lot.

Meh. I prefer the prospects we have lined up for 08 and considering in 09.

Greggy.....could you maybe possibly...somehow...nicely...get an autograph? I could mail you a 8x10 and errethang....purdy ..please? :D

Recruiting is college sports. I'm a UK fan and Gillipsie is going to get his time regardless of how bad Tubby left the team. Though my thought process wonders if Donovan would've taken what can be argued as the best job in college sports if he didn't go to NBA then go back. I like Gillipsie because he can recruit but how Calipari was not offered job i'll never know.

i hope he takes tyler zeller under his wing...we are gonna be SICK next year....a TEAM of allstars. i can't ...freakin.....wait.

You are assuming Tyler comes back along w/ Lawson and Ellington. Those ae big asumptions. If they come back then no doubt the Heels are the favorote to win it all(hopefully for a shot at back to back titles) but I'll be surprised if they are back.

tyler has already made public statements promising 4 years to roy williams. not to say he couldn't go back on his word but that's what he's said. i don't know about lawson and ellington....i know wayne had already considered drafting last year, so it will be difficult to convince him to stay another year this time around im sure.

I'll ask my brother

I'm hoping he gets Si's player of the year, I have autographed Si's player of the years from Stackhouse and May on my wall above my computer already.

Tyler has made public statements that he won't leave unless the Heels win a Championship, he is not guaranteed 4 years. he may stay, he may go we'll have to wait and see. Sean May said a few years ago he was definitely coming back for his Sr year and we know how that worked out.
