**** I started this tread last season but I edited it for this seasons stats and contract situations.******
If Tashard Choice is not in the future rotation of the Cowboys do you think he is worth a look as depth to Miami's running game based on the following:
1) Ronnie is 99% gone
2) Ricky might be gone
3) Cobbs and Hillard are not locks by any means
Tashard is young and has good first and second year numbers for a back that is a rotational player with three backs.
Here is an article about Choice and his potential and his ability to catch the ball out of the back field.
Stats:
5'10" 212lbs. - 2008 4th round pick out of Georgia Tech
2008 - 92 rushes for 472 yards, 5.2ave, 2TD's, 21rec for 185 yards,
2009 - 64 rushes for 349 yards, 5.5ave, 3TD's, 15rec for 132 yards
2010 - 66 rushes for 243 yards, 3.7ave, 3TD's, 17rec for 109 yards
He has 1 year left on his contract with Dallas so I am not sure what it would take to bring him in but I am sure the front office could figure out something worth the potential value of a good player with a lot of good abilities. He is severely unhappy in Dallas with the splitting time with Jones and Barber.
I personally feel Tashard has a good potential for low risk value and I also think he would fit the system nicely and would be available without trading high picks or personnel.
Adding another good young back in the system for the right price never hurts and from what Choice has demonstrated on the field it might not be a stretch to gamble on a third year guy instead of drafting a lower round running back in the draft to compete for a starting spot on the roster.
Just my thought anyway.
