ok so they are both at the tail end of their career. they probably have 2 maybe 3 decent yrs left so after all is said and done do you guys think they are HOF'mers?

yes i know asking this on a dolphin site is lunacy since all the homers will instantly say yes 1st ballot no questions asked but if you say yes please give a resona nd if you say no please give a reason.

ok i think Jason Taylor has more potential to be a 1st ballot guy he has 6 pro bowls and defensive MVP to his resume. at the moment he has 117 sacks with 7 interceptions most by any D-lineman ever. if he plays 3 more yrs and racks up 10 sacks a season he'll finish with 147 sacks which is pretty good.

i think the biggest factor is his competition..if he retires the same yr as Ray Lewis, Jonathan OGden, Orlando PAce, Walter Jones, Marvin Harrison, Tony G, Michael Strahan etc etc than his chances of being 1st ballot get shot to hell but if he goes in with a weak class than i think he gets its in.

Zach Thomas the dolfan in me says he and Lewis were the 2 premier ILB and evry one elsle was looking up he didnt get the media attention/hype like lewis or Urlacher which it think hurts his chances.

he wasnt the fastest or the biggest but he has the best instincts of any LB i have ever seen granted i havent seen many as im only 22 but still he was all heart.

its hard to be unbiased when it comes to yor favorite player but i think if i really had to give my honest opinion i would say he belong in the hall of very good if he doesnt get in the HOF i wouldnt be that surprised though it saddens me. if in fact he does get in it wont be for a while imo.

I posted a thread on this a while back before my BAN!

My view is that Jason Taylor would be a first ballot HOF inductee. Zach Thomas will not sniff the HOF unless he buys a ticket. Players that are released/ cut by their teams cause they were not good enough do not make it in the HOF.

I would not be surprised if we see another #54 running around again this season in a Dolphin uniform.

Zach and JT are probably my two all time favorite players....making Dan Marino 3rd in my book. Both guys have been to multiple pro-bowls and I think mostly as starters not just as an alternate. I think they should both get in.... I'd hate to see Zach being one of the "old timers" getting inducted with a younger group years from now....but I see both getting in there but both still playing for awhile, maybe not as long as Junior Seau has done. J.Ogden I believe retired if I remembered right???
Heck, I'm still having a hard time believing Zach Thomas will not be in a Dolphins uniform come opening day

Jason will probably get in on the first ballot. Zach SHOULD be a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he will probably get in on his second or thrid attempts.

their both in,dont worry about it...

Z. Thomas-

Has more tackles than anyone in th HOF as it stands.

Is the only player to have 100+ tackles in over a decade(almost 12 years)

JT-

tied for most INTs for a D-END

is one of the top sack leaders of all-time

has one of the most tackles of all-time

tied for the most TDs

zach thomas has the second-most(after only junior seau) tackles in NFL HISTORY.. how is he not a first ballot hall of famer??

Emmit smith was released.
Jerry Rice was released
Dan Marino was relased

The general sentiment amongst media types is that Taylor is first ballot and Zach is borderline whether he gets in at all which to me proves a lot of them don't know what they are watching. Zach is 110% nailed on to get in and it's Taylor who will be more debatable. There are a lot of great DE's hanging around waiting to get in compared to MLB's.

As for the comment of Zach being cut for not being good enough , you are way , way off on that one for starters but even if you were right it doesn't take anything away from the 12 years up to that point. Miami (wrongly) didn't keep Junior Seau around either and he is just about the most guarentted future HoF'er still active afer Brady, Manning and Tomlinson.

This post is a typical example of "flame bait". It's a common technique based on the "any publicity is good publicity" sentiment.

Just ignore it and it will go away.

zach thomas- should be but will not, while be overlooked, while players like urlacher and ray lewis ( flashy players) will
jason taylor- needs to put up solid nuber for 2-4 more seasons to be considered, as of right now, great player, great person, not a HOFer

they will both get in. Taylor was the first "Undersized speed" end in my recollection and he revolutionized the game. Thomas although not first ballot has to get in on the sole basis that he has more tackles then any defensive player in the hall so that has to count for something

so you think that jt has a better chance of getting into the hall right now than Thomas? is this your opinion or what u think the voters will do?
