He is a name, that's it. The 9ers gave him money already . . . the guy makes like 400,000 this season, why would you cut a guy making peanuts who could be used as depth? The only reason would be he SUCKS lol.

no thanks...Taylor Mays has stupid athletic ability,but he's not a football player. As a prospect I was one of his biggest fans, but thats until someone pointed out looking at the tape on him more closely. mays lacks good football IQ, doesnt have a true position. He has a build of a linebacker, but doesnt have the smarts for it. has the speed of a corner, but agility isnt there. Plays at safety, but doesnt have the playmaking ability to take advantage of his skills.

Didn't like him coming out and still dont. Player with no position. Too big for a FS or SS, not good enough hips for either position. Too small for LB. No Thanks.
 
Word is he's a liability in deep coverage. Supposedly Greg Manusky (D Coord in SF last year) didn't want to start him but he was a favorite of Singletary and started a handful of games. Perhaps he could be a project conversion to LB? Kid can hit!

except Bing had mad skills but no speed. Exactly the opposite of Mays. he could be a killer 4-3 olb though. I have a hard time believing that with all of his athleticism he couldn't at least cover TEs
 
No thanks.. if we were a 4-3 team I'd say we should try him out at OLB.. but otherwise no

He has potential culver doesnt... it wouldnt be a bad idea for him to be backup for bell
 
He must have done something to pizz them off.. I don't think we even gave up on Pat White that quickly,.
 
Agree with JFoxx. This is a huge red flag. Stay away!!
 
Who ever picks him up should do the right thing and develop him as linebacker. He's not a safety or any type of defensive back.
