Taylor

Jason Taylor beat the Panther Drum for the opening of Game 4 in tonight’s Stanley Cup game. Then they showed another Taylor is in the building and it’s so annoying. Feel like I’m watching a Chiefs game. Why do we have to show her every TV timeout? Why? Why?
JT beat the Washington and Jets drum too chasing rings, and came crawling back.

I laugh every time I see Swift at a sporting event because I know just kills the most soft, insecure, 'men' in this country. How completely immature, emasculated one must be to be threatened over Taylor ****ing Swift being shown in the stands for a mere few seconds. Incels are killing this country.

Many are laughing at this ridiculously DUMB, insecure, emasculated response. You took it down a path you dreamed up and invented yourself.

What makes you believe the same people wouldn't be fatigued seeing Ben Affleck or some other over-exposed, overrated celebrity thrust up on screen every 30 seconds during sporting events?

Not only that, you doubled down by referring to these people as "incels". Why is your ridiculous assertion still visible? That's a personal attack on @royalshank who had every right to vent his frustration. Do we get to refer to you as an "incel" moving forward since you've responded by venting your frustration, too?

People like YOU are killing this country (and this forum). Right back at ya.

Someone starting a post about this is just unimaginable. Grow up.

AW, the voice of reason has entered the room! SMH.

When you respond to a thread you find so unimaginable and in the manner in which you did -- you don't get to claim the moral high ground.

The fact that you didn't reconignize that before you replied is also "unimaginable".

I can make this really simple for you. If you find a thread topic ridiculous, unimagineable, or otherwise unappealing -- don't contribute to it! It really is that simple and easy.

But you'll undoubtedly return to this "unimagineable" thread to respond and argue with anybody pushing back on you. Which is almost certainly what you wanted in the first place.

Taylor Swift is one of the most famous figures in the world and she’s filthy rich. If she wants to enjoy a big sporting event, she has every right to. If I had her type of financial freedom I’d attend every Super Bowl, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup, etc. as well as a neutral fan just for the experience too.

Hell I’ve been to two Super Bowls in Miami and we know damn well the Dolphins weren’t competing in either of them. Watching Peyton get his first one live is forever a memorable experience for me as an NFL fan.

We have a group of members at FH that start the most mind-numbing threads on nearly a daily basis yet it's this one that people have a huge problem with now?

Talk about focusing on mouse $#1t when there's elephant $#1t everywhere!

The number of head-scratching thread topics we all have to navigate though makes me have zero empathy for the dolts complaining about this one.

I'm with you @royalshank . I'm far past tired of TV networks and a certain faction of people "simping" for Taylor Swift and other overexposed celebrities. Unlike these simps, I don't have any desire to stalk these celebrities everywhere they go. Couldn't care less about them, other than they are pushed on me at every turn. Stop the madness!

Killing the country by not getting irrationally upset about seeing a celebrity on TV. Some of you people, jeez

Getting irrationally upset about someone else complaining about seeing a celebrity on TV every 30 seconds is somehow different?

Don't feign ignorance or be a hypocrite. Or are you really that dense that you couldn't see the point?

You just became "some of you people, jeez". And don't even realize it.

Doesnt creating this thread just add to the very thing you say you despise?

Doesn't responding to this thread add to the very thing you are clearly despising or taking issue with?

It's as if people don't believe things work in both directions.

You're a weird guy, Ace. A weird guy.

If you don't despise her, then you're her biggest fan.

They show her because she is the most famous entertainer since Michael Jackson. If Michael Jackson were at a game, he would absolutely be shown on the camera.

Hyperbole. She's nowhere near that. Not even close.

Today's celebrities are large fish in smaller ponds. Their fan bases are much more segmented. Sure, the biggest of today's celebrities still have tens of millions of fans, but in a world of roughly 4 Billion people, they are unknown or uncared about by an even larger pool of fans.

Back in the days of Elvis, the Beatles, and even Michael Jackson, media was much more focused through local TV and newspaper. The vast majority of the country (and even the world) saw a lot of the same things. Now, with such a myriad of different options, it's not uncommon for massively popular celebrities to go unknown to an even larger population of people.

In this case, the lionshare of her fan base is essentially the same as it was for Brittany Spears, KPOP, and all the 90's boy bands. Millions of young girls/women and male simps. Eventually her fan base will age out of their obsession and fandom just like they did with those that came before her.

Regardless, there are numerous other entertainers just as famous and popular. They just appeal to different, more mature audiences.

C'mon, you seriously think something like KPOP has the same popularity as Taylor Swift? I only know KPOP even exists because I had three kids but even my 90-year-old mother has heard of Taylor Swift
