Hello,

I don't see how to solve our TE issue.
The TE Free Agent pool is not very good this year and in the draft I read we only meet with Goedert !

If I am right, in the past all dolphin draftees have more than just one meeting with our staff.

Perhaps Goedert is our target for our second round pick.......but that seems dangerous because IMO he could be picked before.

Do you see a TE we could pick in FA or did you know if dolphins meet another TE of the draft pool ?

Remember how many times we met with Harris last year
DALLAS GOEDERT
MARK ANDREWS
HAYDEN HURST
MIKE GESICKI
Tyler Conklin
ADAM BRENEMAN
TROY FUMAGALLI
There's a good chance we'll get one, it just depends what round we want to invest

Ttake Breneman off your list, he retired due to injuries.

for about 10+ years I’ve been saying we’ve needed a tight end and a real free saftey I feel like they have been needs for the longest time
But seems to be a lot of talent at tight end this year in the draft hopefully we can find someone and develop him

It was posted on FH a few weeks ago that we have shown interest in Hayden Hurst.

I still think unless someone like Parker is moved during the draft that due to our FA signings at WR a true pass catching TE is not in the cards. We have a lot of money tied up at WR now and it seems like the plan is to run lots of 4 receiver sets. If I add in that it has been said that they plan on getting Drake more involved in the passing game there is not many passes left to be thrown to a TE. A second round pick is worth too much to use on someone who may not have any more impact than AJ Derby.

I do still believe we need a TE but it will probably be a more complete player or even a blocking specialist.

If any of that is what they are thinking then guys that cannot block like Gesicki and Andrews are off the board. Hurst and Goedert can block so they could be possibilities but someone like Ian Thomas out of Indiana (3rd round) as a more complete TE is more likely. As far as blocking TE’s go Rizzo from FSU (5-7 round) and Smith from Notre Dame (5-7 round) are two that excel in that area.

What is frustrating, is that last year would have been the perfect time to pick up a TE, I was looking at the TV waiting for us to draft one which never happened. This year, I am confident we will draft one, I just don't have any idea what round.

The cupboard is largely bare. Gase can talk up A.J. Derby all he wants, and I'm not going to say the kid has nothing based on one game with Cutler, but I see us adding a TE starter in this draft (somewhere in round 1-3), and I also see us adding another later round or undrafted FA. I wouldn't put it past Gase to also add another veteran once training camp starts, maybe Fasano if he decides to return.

The good news is we have the receivers to run 4 wide......we do need to get a good TE. Hopefully the Bears release Sims!

I do. 2nd Round.

You never know how the draft will unfold but CLEARLY our 2nd round pick lines up with the heart of the TE depth in this draft.

Someone did a good job already on a TE thread...

This team hasn't been able to find a suitable TE for 2 young rookie QBs. And going into RT 7th year, just maybe they might invest in something other than a 3rd on a egghead or bring back a 40 yr old RightTackle playing TE now days.

Daulton Schultz from Stanford or Chris Herndon from Miami would be two guys I wouldn't mind looking at in the middle of the draft.

The team also likes Ian Thomas tho I am hoping for Goedert, at this point I believe he'll be gone

Thanks for all this information..........but again what afraid me is that we don't invit many TE to Workout or private meetings and if we look at the 2 pst draft with Gase and Tannenbaum......you could see that we picked guys who have been heavily scruted and invited many times.

If I am right only Goedert was scruted like that so far.......;I hope I'am wrong !
