TE Hunter Long’s injury not believed to be season-ending

They said he flew to Chicago and is with the team..

Not a doctor but I think it the injury was believed to be season-ending or requiring surgery at this time, they wouldn't have dragged him out there following that type of injury.

Hopefully we dodged a bullet this time

was thinking the same thing....why take him to Chicago if the injury is real bad?

Best case scenario is he starts the season on the PUP list
i think it's much better than that.

he wouldn't have been on a plane for a few hours with an injured leg.

he may actually be "day to day."

you might see him in the game saturday! (i'd hold him out even if he looked fine, but that's just me)

i think we really dodged a bullet here, boys.

They said Preston could come back after 5 weeks last year, it's now 9 months
The rumor is that Preston had a Lisfranc injury. The league average to return from that is a little over 11 months. They didn't reveal that publicly, but my guess is that they knew he'd start camp on the PUP a long time ago. I could see both Preston and Long starting the season on IR and coming back about a quarter to a half of the way into the season.

Long is on the sideline at practice with Da Bears. No brace, no wrap, nada.
