Minnesota TE Maxx Williams will forego his final two seasons of college eligibility and enter the 2015 NFL draft.
We're excited about this one. Listed at 6-foot-4, 250, Williams racked up 36 catches for 569 yards and eight touchdowns as a 20-year-old redshirt sophomore in 2014. He was the Gophers' leading receiver in every category by a significant margin. Williams won't turn 21 until just before the 2015 draft, and looks like a future difference maker as a pass-catching tight end. We suspect Williams' "stock" will rise throughout the winter and early spring and he'll end up being drafted as high as the top 15.
this kid is intriguing. big catch radius, athletic, red zone threat.

Surprised he declared. Might end up the top TE in this draft class. He's probably the most rounded TE but I don't think he has the speed to be a legit seem threat.

Where did you get the quote from? Top 15 draft pick? Wow...

I really didn't expect him to go anywhere near that high, even in a weak TE class. I can't even wrap my head around him being called a top 15 draft pick.

I wouldn't have put him above any of the first 5 TE's drafted last year.

Chambers has been tooting Maxxxxxxx's horn for a while now, and if you saw that 54 yard touchdown he created yesterday, you can see why. He's definitely someone I'd like to see us look at in the 2nd round, if he's still on the board.

Honestly didn't know much about until I watched some of the game film that Chambers posted a while back and was impressed. Complete player.

he would definitely upgrade us. I don't see him getting to us in the 2nd. he reminds me of gronk. just his style

The more this draft thing goes on the more I am thinking offense.

Smart move. Still very young, but heads and shoulders ahead of the rest of the TEs. Could be a Todd Heap/Heath Miller guy. and like Wanny said, I love me some Maxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

and to be clear, I'd love Maxxxxx on the team, and that's not a knock on Sims (who actually played pretty damn well when called upon) or Clay. I just think Maxx has a skill set we are lacking.

I think that ridiculous 54 yard touchdown where he caught the ball, cut upfield with speed and then hurdled two guys to get into the end zone is the type of play that's going to move him up some draft boards. He'll test well at the combine, too. Dang.

About time we have a Gopher on this team…lol. I still think this team has other needs though.
