I think the comeback against the Bills shows that this team is starting to adopt Saban's personality. Saban talks a lot about overcoming adversity and maintaining a competitive spirit no matter what the situation, the score, or the team's record.

What Saban does that's even MORE important is work his *** off from week to week even though we have very little chance of going anywhere this year. The team sees that, and I think they showed that same kind of determination and resiliency against the Bills. In other words, I think they role modeled Saban's spirit and behavior.

This is step one in this team's turning the corner with Saban IMO. When Saban's positive attributes have started to rub off on the team, then we've started to get a team identity, which IMO is the first step in doing anything big in the NFL.

Anyone with realistic expectations for this team would agree with you. It takes time to take a group of people (players, employees, whatever) and instill your philosophies on them. Especially when their former leader had a completely different ideology. Now, that the season is drawing to a close we are starting to see those Sabanesque qualities start to shine from time to time (ie: 4th quarter at Buffalo.). Now I have to admit that watching the first three quarters was like watching someone kick your dog for 45 minutes, but it was great to see the team really adjust and pound out a hard-fought victory. I remember the good old days: 4th quarter, down by 20, Marino in the shotgun...No problem! It sure felt like that on Sunday (except for the no problem part:lol: ).

Right, or in the Wannstedt days, when I think the team figuratively ran its hands through its hair in the 4th quarter instead of being resilient and overcoming adversity.

I agree 100%

remember we have little chance of the playoffs, but still a chance, if we win out we have an ok shot at makeing it i think :D , and saban should have us ready to play every week from here on out as he has all season

I really think the team has turned the corner this year though, regardless of how our record ends up

Your evaluations have been intelligent so far and I hope you are right about this...The ones who aren't buying it will be gone eventually.

I blew a blood vessel in my eye during a Miami/Buffalo game during Wanny's tenure. I was so pissed that day!

The one that pissed me was

vs

New england we could have ran the ball and run some clock, a first down could have sealed it, in the snow dave someone conceives in his mind that passing is the thing to do, we pass 3 strait downs, 3 and out, NE gets the ball scores and wins the game

watching Sage out of the shotgun reminded me of Marino....had to rub my eyes....had that same one arm pointing out the defenders....from a distance it sure brought back great memories.

Big division wins are always great for the team. I don't think we have turned any corner just yet. We have beaten two bottom dwellers is all.

Right, but that's looking at it in terms of results rather than how we played. A team at 4-7 with little shot at the playoffs could pretty easily give up in a game in which it starts the 4th quarter down 23-3. The fact that we won that game I think reflects that we've adopted at least some of Saban's personality and philosophy.

In other words, I don't think we've turned the corner either in terms of how good we are talent-wise and how well we play against the better teams in the league, but we may have just turned the corner in terms of HOW we play. And we weren't going to get the talent to turn the corner talent-wise this year anyway, so if we establish an identity as a team this year, it'd be a big accomplishment IMO that will still fuel the team when we do have the talent.

And the mixture of talent and identity, when it finally happens, will be AWESOME.

The atmosphere is set for all of the new guys who come in this offseason.

And I think that's a HUGE accomplishment for a first-year head coach to have in only his first year.
