It's sad, because our team looks really good. However, our (so-called) General sucks. He doesn't have it. The play calling bailed him out last year, but it's not gonna help him this year. He can't throw a pass over 10-15 yds!!! What D is gonna be intimidated by that? That's when he actually throws the ball; cradles the ball ducks & waits to get tackled. He panics like no other with the slightest bit of pressure. The Jets cut him for a reason, & now we see why. He can't be our starter. The plays that Pat White played QB didn't amount to much, but I see a ton of potential there. He overthrew Ginn, but if he had another chance, we'd see a lot of down field completions. I think I saw our future General there, he has vision, made a nice block, and HE CAN THROW THE BALL. Chad can't. I know it's only Week 1, but it just picked up for Chad where it left off against Baltimore. I really wish I could say different, but I can't. Chad will NOT get us anywhere. We need a QB.

And Fasano, 1 fumble...ok. But 2 from getting hit, not stripped, that's unacceptable. Learn off your 1st mistake. Those 2 fumbles are a big reason we lost. The other reason, the main reason: Pennington.

Great Job Defense, WR core, big props to R-n-R. O-line was ok, but needs improvement. So I love our team, but Chad isn't the leader that is gonna get us anywhere. Henne?? White?? Free Agent?? I don't know. But Chad gotta go. I gotta believe that you agree with me about Chad. It's not like it's 1 bad game. It's a lack of all the fundamentals.

Let's get a home opener win Now against Indy. Peace DolFan Family.

Pennington is washed up. Way too quick to give up on plays and use his noodle arm to throw it away.

Umm did u see our O-Line get dominated everytime we tried to do deep drops and pass downfield. Stupid thread

The third down pass D was horrible. Chad is the type of guy that needs help, he can't carry an offense. He got no blocking, running game, play calling, or help from his receivers. The offense as a whole needs re-vamping and it SHOULD HAVE STARTED WITH THE DRAFTING OF HAKEEM NICKS GODDAMNIT ****!!!!!
Pennington is not perfect, but the whole offense played terribly today.

We actually ran the ball better than last year I thought...so I can't say the WHOLE offense sucked...

The turnovers killed us.

Guys...I too wish I can say Chad just had a bad game along with the rest of the team. And the D?? How can you say they were bad? They were on the field every 5 minutes, literally. Not to mention that the Falcons were on the good side of the 50 yd line nearly half of the time.

So if you think our team doesn't look great. Then look deeper. They suffer bc we have to run trick plays to hide the fact Chad can't throw. Therefore, they can't play in a nice rhythm, We're so predictable. That's the reason the O looked bad, bc the D isn't afraid of our Pass game, so they load up the line, & play the Safties shallow until Pennington makes them change that. But he doesn't. Bc he can't. Seriously, I love this team. And I'm not trying to argue & be a dick, but the facts are the facts. No D respects Pennington's passing, & they shouldn't. They know he can't throw over 15 yds. So that kills the rushing game, & kills the O-Line bc they're getting overloaded with pass rushers. Don't you understand that? That's how a bad QB makes a whole team lack & look bad. He's the top of the chain, & effects the entire teams chemistry.

I don't think the team looked "great" nor is it easy to single out Pennington as the problem.

Fasano and Long deserve criticism before Pennington. What's more, the decision to bring out White in the 3rd quarter when we were actually making progress was head scratching and, to me, the real turning point in the game. We finally had something working so we abruptly changed it up. Not a good decision.

I hate to say it, but now that I look back, Chad Pennington really did screw up. It looked more than a bad game today. I remember myself constantly saying " Well, here goes another drive where Chad is going to throw it to the ground and not take a chance at all, or go down and just take the sack " I love the guy for what he did for us last season, but Atlanta's defense was supposed to be nothing. I'm actually worried now because Chad is going to face some MUCH fiercer defenses soon. The Colts are going to pass rush the **** out of us.

However, I'm not solidified that this is the team we'll be watching the rest of the season, we changed dramatically from how we played in week 1 last season, and I'm certain we'll do it again. Chad included.

I knew I was going to come here and see these kind of ridiculous threads. It's easy to see that Pennington had a bad game. You'd have to be blind. But what about the fact that Jake Long got bullrushed repeatedly? What about the fact that Fasano put the ball on the ground twice, right when the team was building momentum lead by Pennington?

Nobody is going to say that Pennington had a good game when he had two turnovers and only one score. But to say that the whole team but him played well is completely wrong. Everybody except run support played like a pile of crap, which is just what your analysis is.

Perfectly stated.

I hate to say it, but i agree with the thread starter, Chad Pennington had that shell shocked look all day long, the same one I saw against the Ravens, he reminded me today of John Beck, and thats not a good thing. You cant blame the receivers, he freaking never looked to throw down field, he looked left sideline, right sideline, than tryed a quick dump off everytime. I really wanted to believe in Chad, but every team we face from now on will play exactly like the Ravens and Falcons did, and that my friends spells big trouble, 8 and 9 in the Box, we wont be scoring much against that.

I think i'll go throw up NOW!!!

SirSpud--His play effects the entire team. The QB is the most essential person on the field, when he plats bad then the whole team does too. Atlanta rushed the hell out of us, that's why our O-Line looked bad. They weren't worried about coverage. They knew that jamming the line was working on shutting down the run game. And Chad even getting a pass off. Indy is gonna watch the tape & do the same thing until we can pass the ball. He doesn't have vision, can't scramble & can't make a pass over 15 yds. That's all I'm saying, u either understand the cause & effect of it, or you don't. But that's what it is, & I hope we make the necessary changes so we don't see this again.

Henne hasnt played a down, and he sucks, get over it, today was not Penny's fault alone, no matter how much you write it here it aint gonna happen because Henne is not as good as Penny.

Penny picked up where he left off from last year.

As for the game, DEF was nice. And Tony G. worked us. People before the game said Tony G. was old and couldn't get it done. Well he got it done and we got, got.
