Trust me I understand what your saying. But I'm not willing to invest a top 5-10 pick into a rookie backup QB, who might not be much more talented then a QB selected in round two. This is not the year to Gamble away another high draft pick on, what the consensus is saying about 2025 being a weak QB class. This draft class reminds me of the Christian Ponder class. The year Miami selected Mike Pouncey.
It might be wiser to select a developmental type to groom in round two or three and perhaps signing a better backup veteran QB. Just my opinion.
And in addition to finding better options behind Tua, why not develop a dominant run game to protect your QB?
More than anything, if Miami can take the run game to the next level I believe the Dolphins can start competing with the best of the best.I agreethat'll work for me too.
The run game though I'm only skeptical because that'd mean a priority needs to be placed on offensive linemen that aren't so-so...with Grier around I'm not confident...
Old school football. It still works.More than anything, if Miami can take the run game to the next level I believe the Dolphins can start competing with the best of the best.
It's one reason I think McDaniel could turn this around. You can see his run game concepts working. But the lack of physicality and mistakes on the offensive line (holding, false starts) have held Miami back. This is evident against the better teams when the run game disappears at times.
But it's also not having a multiple dimensional quarterback, who gives the team more options in the run game.
Clearly, the Dolphins need more talent on the offensive line. If we're into blaming, I think both Grier and McDaniel have to share some of the blame.
McDaniel also needs to stick to the run more. A physical back would help too.
I love the Baltimore blueprint. The Ravens are averaging more than 200 yards rushing per game and giving up about 70.

Why would you pick defense for o line? Thats not smart manIf you canāt have Jalen milroe then you bail on qb for 25and take edge Abdul carter from Penn state
Chris Grier takes dt graham from Michigan. Cause tunnel vision.
I think build from outside in might work with a multidimensional quarterback. Tua, in my opinion, needs that strong interior line.I also like what Baltimore is doing. I also see both of them (mcd and grier) as a problem because one guy schemes it for the need of these almost hybrid hard to find skill set guys (and im talking about offensive linemen here) and the other dude can't even find regular guys (again offensive linemen) that are worth a damn consistently unless they are damaged goods in someway or somehow (and if he does he'll drop them when the price isn't right)...it's a recipe for disaster...but they believe that in today's game you build from the outside in and it'll work....guess we'll see soon but it isn't looking good because the objective isn't just make the playoffs on the fringe most of the time and always losing your division...you need to be built to go higher than that.
Yes, in the big picture. I would think the powers-to-be realize this, but their plan to solve it has not happened. Worst part is when the Pats went South, the Bills went North on us and these 2 teams have been our #1 problem for winning the AFC East for f**ing years! Who has been there through it all? Ross + Grier and I don't think Ross is going anywhere. You can not only end thread after this post but end every thread on this site for the foreseeable future too. Spot on.
But Paul is a "project" player....sitting in a pile of "Acorns"....Grier Loooooves this type of player!Ouch if Paul is yet another high draft bust when you think of the talent that was available that we could have had.
Yes! The old ground-and-pound with a stout defense to back it up. Man, that + get out of the "platoon" RB concept...I say give the hot hand the rock...game after game! I like this Jaylen Wright kid. Hard, slashing, punishing runner! I think he will gain weight as a pro too, so I say keep feeding this kid the rock!More than anything, if Miami can take the run game to the next level I believe the Dolphins can start competing with the best of the best.

There were a lot of positives about Paul coming out of training camp. We kept hearing about his physical qualities, finishing runs etc. The type of demeanor you want in an offensive lineman. But Paul is a "project" player....sitting in a pile of "Acorns"....Grier Loooooves this type of player!
