I would love to see the Fins Sign Suggs and Scott. It would allow us to address the OL and FS position on day one.

Didn't put WR because I can live with Ginn, Bess and Cam for another year.

we dont need a LG maybe a back up for Smiley but i think he is going to be good for the start of the season
and i think Donald Thomas should come back at the begining of the season as a starter

1. ILB
2. CB
3. WR
4. C
5. OLB
6. NT
7. FS
8. Backup OG
9. 2nd CB
10. Nickel back(not the band either)

So let me get this straight... the defense just posted 12 straight quarters of not allowing a touchdown, and they were on the field for NEARLY 40 MINUTES against the 49ers and most of you still think the need is on defense?

Parcells is all about Smash-mouth football. Jake Long seems to have panned out awfully well, don't you think? I think we need more OL so that we can pound Ronnie and Ricky down everyone's throats! Unlike a lot of teams, we are pretty stacked at RB and QB. Thomas and Smiley should be back, but there is no such thing as too many good OL.

Next, another quality DL wouldn't hurt, but this defense has fared pretty well and if you can get some more consistancy on the OL, then maybe the defense won't be out there as much. A #1 WR might be nice since I think we have several really good possession receivers.

Now, admittedly, I'm a Roth fan, and I know everyone would like more production out of him... but I think he's done a pretty good job at OLB considering it is his first year there since HIGH SCHOOL (he played DE all 4 years at Iowa) and he is still carrying the weight of a DL, since that is where he thought he'd be slotted, even halfway through fall camp. Give him a frickin' break, won't ya? He was an Awesome pass rusher in college and I think everyone agrees that he has a non-stop motor, and given a full off-season to learn better technique, etc... I think you'll see an improvement. Learning pass coverage... well... I agree that bringing in a 3rd down pass covering LB specialist is going to be the best option.

so...
1) OL
2) WR
3) OL
4) DE
5) CB
6) FS
7) ILB
8) C
9) scatback (ie: Leon Washington)
10) Powerful TE (more blocker than receiver) (ie Bavaro)

No, we need more pass rushers, a better FS, more cornerbacks, and another young NT to replace Ferguson in the future. I wouldn't be suprised to see Miami pick all defense in the first 3 rounds, with only one of those picks being a center.

the biggest reason they were on the field for 40 minutes is because the defense let them stay on the field for 40 minutes. they couldnt stop them until they got near the endzone.

<snip>

The more I think about it the more I am inclined to agree with your point about the OL. Right now our defense is a few points away from being a top 5 defense in the points scored against catagory (the only one that counts). Bottom line is that we can win with our current defense.

THe same can not be said about our offense, we have to great running back yet we can't run the ball. Why is that? Well, it is because our OL sucks outside of J. Long. I do not believe Carey will be back and remember, we have zero depth at OT! I coulld see the Fins drafting at least two OT's. We could also use a center.

Smiley and Thomas will be back and if we draft a center Satale can be the number 1 backup to the entire interior line. We still are going to need at least 2 OT's.

I could see the Fins going:

1. OT
2a. OC
2b. OT
3. NT

early in the draft.

We are going to have to address they defense but I think we are going to work on the offesive side of the ball in the draft. I could see the front office addressing the LB position via FA.

We do need some help to be able to pound the ball more. We also really need more pass rushers and db's. I think we need OL, WR, DB and DE/LB in that order. We really need to be able to consistently score more often. Our defense did a good job especially towards the end of the season. But we struggled at times putting points on the board. I think our offense is what we need to work on first.

I think one of the first position the needs to be adressed is C. I think Miami can find a solid LG more power to us. Smiley will be coming back from a gruesome injury and moving him to RG would not be a bad idea. DT,OLB,CB and FS are all positions of need. A my number one is WR. We need a true number one cause personally for me Ginn is not doing it as much as he improved this season.
