They added #26 yesterday with a punt return into Ravens territory. The short field resulted in another FG.

26 - Punt - Ravens 43 - FG

If we don't get 2 of these a game then we just don't score enough points.

Bump

The punt return by Landry was #27 on the year.

27 - Punt - Patriots 32 - TD

We need another

Bump, Update

The complimentary football to end the half in New England was a thing of beauty. Offense drove it from deep in their own territory to midfield to switch field position.
The special teams pinned them deep with good punt and coverage. The defense forced a 3 and out while coaching staff utilized timeouts the way they are supposed to be used.
The the punt return team broke one into the opponents territory. Instead of being conservative with 11 seconds and trying to get closer FG attempt we go for end zone and it pays off with good play by QB and WR. That is how it is supposed to look. For one time we got it right.

After 14 weeks the Dolphins still lead the NFL in percentage of drives that have started in the opponents territory with 27 in 157 possessions. (17.2%)

It has been dropping off the last few weeks. Without the 2 a game average we are having trouble scoring points lately on offense.

I remember you bringing this stat up earlier in the season and showed that almost every team that led the league in this stat won 10+ games or they almost all went to the playoffs or something.

Almost every team with 6 double digit wins goes to the playoffs.

Almost every team top 10 in points against goes to the playoffs.

What a waste.

To me that looks like pretty good O. Scoring in 19 of 24 opportunities with TDs almost half the time.

Yes the offense had been good at cashing in when we get a short field.
The problem lies in those other 130 possession that start on our side of the field.

Only 205 points in 130 possessions isn't very good.

Obviously it tailed off at the end with injuries. But was nice to see us forcing the other team into mistakes and then cashing in on them.

Except this bump wasn't to look at a positive but rather a back handed slap to the offense and qb. Your passive aggressive attempts are extremely transparent.

How is there any slap to offense? I give all credit in this thread. Can you actually read?

Ok...so we score more often than not on a short field?...and we do it more than/ better than all other teams?...How many of those games did we take advantage of the swing in momentum and win the game/...how many of those were a game changing event...like we were losing but then this or we never looked back after this?

Love the optimistic "stats" that make things look rosy in some aspect of the team. Appreciate the "homework" you did to reveal the information....but unless we are winning as a result of these "stats" it looks like fools gold to me. I mean wouldn't these things amount to more if we not only could be better in these areas than everybody but we also OWN you when this happens? I don't get the point of things sometimes and require another set of eyes to explain to me the overall importance....to me it's wins...I'm not really a stats guy so I mean no disrespect.

Tannehill is he best thing going for Miami.
