The worst teams in the league are:

Houston: 1-8
Green Bay: 2-7
San Francisco: 2-8
New Orleans: 2-8
N.Y Jets: 2-8
Tennessee: 2-8
Arizona: 3-7
Baltimore: 3-7
Miami: 3-7
Minnesota: 4-5
Cleveland: 4-6
Oakland: 4-6
Philadelphia: 4-6
Detroit: 4-6
St. Louis: 4-6
Buffalo: 4-6

At this point, their are too many bad teams. Hopefully Houston can win tonight and Green Bay can win tomorrow, but as of now we don't stand much of a chance of getting an elite QB in the first round. However, if we find a way to blow it on the road again next week (which is pretty likely) and we lose again to Buffalo, we would be 3-9 and chances would increase because we would play San Diego and New England in 2 of the final 4 games. What do you guys think?

It kills me to have to look forward to getting a top 5 pick, rather than looking forward to a playoff spot...

We currently have the 7th pick.

1-Houston 1-8
2-Tennessee 2-8
3-NY Jets 2-8
4-San Francisco 2-8
5-New Orleans 2-8
6-Green Bay 2-7
7-Miami 3-7

we are in VERy bad shape at the coming of this week for leinart. as far as those team needs, i doubt they all want leinart but i dono hopefully our tough schedule will hlep us lose more as our team seems to compete better with the good ones as always and lose to the bad ones. we'll see how that helps us out.

So youre rooting against the Dolphins? Thats pathetic, how can a fan root against his team. I dont care if it gets us better picks, i wanna see progression and wins.

In my entire first post, did I ever say im rooting against the Dolphins? If you read that, then you mis-understood me. Like most people on this board, I anticipate every sunday looking for a Dolphin win. In no way am I ever going to root against them just for a better pick.

Top five pick this year, we have gotten better but so has alot of other teams

And it appears that Houston is happy with Carr and Tennessee is happy with Volek, Jets are happy with Pennington. Im not sure about the other teams though.

Ok i did misunderstand you then. Im just differnt. Im not looking forward to the draft. Im looking forward to the Dolphins coming out and improving on sunday and hopefully winning.

I agree with that. The season is short and we should enjoy every single week. When their is a few weeks left, then I will start looking forward to the draft possitions. But until then, I hope we finish off strong.

San Fran has Alex Smith, New Orleans has Brooks, Green Bay has Aaron Rogers if farve retires.
Only real threats if we were going to get Lienart are the Jets, New Orleans, and Tennessee.

Brooks is as good as gone next year. Tenn. has Volek, but also Norm Chow so yes they are a threat...

One team will have Rivers basically so you can cross one of them off. Basically we have two teams threatening to get him.

If Brady Quinn declares we'll be fine, but otherwise this won't be easy.

I don't think those three are cemented in stone.

The Jets certainly aren't happy with Pennington. He's been a starter four of his six seasons now. And he's failed to finish the last three. In 2003 it was the wrist. Last year he tore up his throwing shoulder. This year he reinjured the same shoulder. He's never had a strong arm to begin with. After him it's the injury-prone Jay Fiedler. Conversely, Curtis Martin hasn't missed a game since his rookie year in 1995 (he missed one game). If Leinart's there, you gotta believe the Jets will take him.

The Titans do like Volek. But it'll be hard for the Titans to resist Norm Chow's desire for his former pupil.

David Carr isn't a sure thing either. He's done little to warrant the $8 million lump sum they'll have to pay him if they want to keep him. Granted they've ruined him with that OL. And D'Brickashaw would be the perfect pick for them. But they could easily decide to start over. Especially if they bring in a new head coach.

That's something that's possible for all three of those teams. It's almost a certainty for New York. Head coaches like to bring in their own people. Quarterbacks being at the top of that list.
